      Golden Predator begins phase II work at 3 Aces

      2016-08-03 12:11 ET - News Release

      Ms. Janet Lee-Sheriff reports

      GOLDEN PREDATOR COMMENCES 3 ACES PROJECT PHASE II WORK PROGRAM

      Golden Predator Mining Corp. has commenced phase II of the 2016 exploration program at the 3 Aces project in southeast Yukon, Canada. The phase II exploration program includes detailed soil sampling, detailed structural mapping, geophysical work, road construction, trenching, installation of a bridge, exploration drilling and bulk sampling.

      Detailed structural mapping, soil sampling, road building and trenching are currently under way, with other work to commence in the coming weeks. The 2016 phase II budget for 3 Aces is set for approximately $4-milion, with work scheduled to continue through year-end.

      3 Aces project -- 2016 work program

      To date, four quartz veins with coarse visible gold, including the main discovery vein and the Sleeping Giant vein, have been discovered exposed at surface within the central core area of the property which covers approximately 10 square kilometres. The veins with visible gold which are exposed at surface occur within three of 16 soil anomalies in the 10-square-kilometre central core area of the much larger 225-square-kilometre claim block. Detailed soil geochemistry has defined the 16 distinct strong soil anomalies which are contoured at 70 parts per billion or greater within this central core. The 70-part-per-billion threshold is considered highly significant as the only gold mineralization encountered to date is associated with quartz veins while the country rock is essentially barren.

      Throughout the larger property and peripheral to the central core area, there are at least 12 drainages identified from earlier stream silt sampling that indicate significant gold concentrations. Wide-spaced grid and contour soil sampling in these outlying drainages is intended to outline additional target areas outside of the central core.

      The phase II work program is designed to further outline the extent of the known mineralization while leading to the potential discovery of additional veins on the 3 Aces property. Newly generated soil anomalies outside of the core area will be more thoroughly explored in 2017. As the 2016 program advances, drill targets will be prioritized, with drilling slated to commence in the fall of 2016.

      Highlights of the phase II work program include:

      Approximately 4,800 soil samples outside of the central core area planned to be completed by the end of August, with analysis projected for September, 2016;
      Construction of a bridge to cross the Little Hyland River, which will allow year-round road access to the project with cost savings over the previous helicopter and/or ice bridge access;
      Approximately six kilometres of road construction to enhance exposure and access to many of the 16 major soil anomalies and allow for mechanized trenching within the areas;
      Investigation of soil anomalies consisting of prospecting and geological mapping to identify structural controls and trenching targets;
      Property-wide airborne geophysics, including magnetics and electromagnetics, to assist in determination of regional lithologic and structural controls on gold mineralization;
      Detailed geophysical surveys consisting of DC resistivity/induced polarization to identify quartz veins and structural targets within the core area;
      Prioritization of gold-bearing veins with an initial 3,500 metres of reverse circulation (RC) drilling planned to test grade and continuity along strikes to modest depths;
      500 metres of core drilling planned to augment vein delineation and geologic understanding.

      Drilling will be designed to use large-diameter reverse circulation and core drilling to collect large volume samples to accurately estimate grades in the veins which contain coarse visible gold. It is expected that the 2016 exploration program will dovetail into the 2017 program. It is anticipated that the 2017 program will allow for a significant increase in drilling as the identification, understanding and prioritization of the gold-bearing quartz veins are advanced.

      A more complete outline of the company's plans can be found in the company's corporate presentation on the company's website.

      3 Aces project, Yukon

      The 3 Aces property is a 225-square-kilometre property consisting of 1,118 contiguous quartz claims (23,000 hectares) located in southeast Yukon and includes the two highest-grade surface outcrops discovered to date in Yukon. The veins discovered to date are characterized by coarse nuggetty gold with a low sulphide content; this is consistent with an orogenic vein model. The property is located along the all-season Nahanni Range Road, which accesses the Cantung mine located 40 kilometres to the north.

      The 3 Aces property contains a number of quartz veins and vein zones that cut Cambrian-aged limestone, shale, quartz grits and chert pebble conglomerates of the Hyland group. Previous sampling and exploration by Golden Predator have outlined extensive gold-in-soil anomalies over 10 square kilometres, including the four high-grade gold in quartz veins that contain coarse visible gold. Exploration work in 2015 and 2016 to date has focused on establishing the grade and continuity of the Sleeping Giant vein, where previous diamond drilling had intersected the vein but returned lower-than-expected grades. The work in 2015 and 2016 has confirmed the high grades of the vein by utilizing a sampling protocol which is resulting in a better estimation of gold grades within the veins. This work, the sampling protocol and the phase II program are designed to significantly advance the understanding and discoveries on the project in 2016 and 2017.

      The 3 Aces property is located in the traditional territory of the Kaska Nation. In January, 2013, Golden Predator signed an exploration agreement with the Kaska Nation, as represented by the Ross River Dena Council, and the Liard First Nation, with respect to activities within their traditional territories.

      Golden Predator discovers visible gold at 3 Aces vein

      2016-08-15 09:55 ET - News Release

      Ms. Janet Lee-Sheriff reports

      GOLDEN PREDATOR DISCOVERS COARSE VISIBLE GOLD IN NEW VEIN AT 3 ACES PROJECT, YUKON

      Golden Predator Mining Corp. has discovered visible gold mineralization in the newly identified Jack of Spades quartz vein at its 3 Aces project in southeastern Yukon. This is the first discovery arising from the company's phase II exploration program, which commenced on Aug. 3, 2016 (Golden Predator NR16-24). The Jack of Spades vein was discovered through systematic trenching and mapping of a small portion of one of the 16 soil anomalies present across the 10-square-kilometre central core area of the 225-square-kilometre property.

      For pictures of the 3 Aces Project, Jack of Spades vein and visible gold, please visit the company's website.

      Additional photos are also available on the company website.

      The Jack of Spades vein

      The newly discovered Jack of Spades vein is 2.5 metres thick, and is located 100 metres east of the Sleeping Giant vein (now renamed the Ace of Spades vein) and 1,100 metres east-northeast of the Main Discovery vein (now renamed the Ace of Hearts vein). Trenching at the Jack of Spades vein has exposed 25 metres of strike length and the top three metres of dip extent. Patchy coarse gold, sometimes crystalline, occurs within a four-metre-by-three-metre area along the western end of the exposed Jack of Spades vein. Two other occurrences of visible gold occur in the central area of the Jack of Spades vein. This style of mineralization is consistent with the gold occurrences along and within the Ace of Spades vein.

      The newly discovered Jack of Spades vein, trending 097/60 southwest has a different orientation than the previously discovered Ace of Spades vein and Ace of Hearts vein. The Ace of Spades vein, which is oriented 050/50S southeast, is the site of the company's bulk sampling conducted earlier this year (see news release NR16-07 dated March 31, 2016). The Ace of Hearts vein, which is oriented 170/70 northeast is the site of the original discovery of coarse gold in an outcropping quartz vein in 2009.

      The Jack of Spades vein, Ace of Spades vein and Ace of Hearts vein have all formed at the contact between softer shales and harder sandstone to conglomerate grit unit. Optimal conditions contributing to vein geometry include the intersection of high-angle, north-to-north-northwest-trending structures and the favourably oriented contact between the shales and the grit unit. These northerly trending structures appear to exhibit a significant influence over gold mineralization as coarse visible gold occurs along with arsenopyrite adjacent to and within their intersections with the westerly Jack of Spades vein.

      The newly recognized relationships between gold mineralization, structure and host rock lithology will provide better targeting for the potential discovery of additional high-grade vein zones. Once the mapping and trenching program has sufficiently delineated and prioritized mineralized veins within the numerous soil anomalies across the approximate 10-square-kilometre central core of the project area, the company will initiate its planned reverse circulation drill program.

      Systematic panel sampling has been conducted along the exposed extent of the Jack of Spades vein. These larger samples (approximately 12 kilograms each) have been submitted to ALS Chemex for screen metallic gold analysis. Importantly, the company's aggressive mapping and trenching program is already well under way with the discovery of the Jack of Spades vein.

Previous sampling and exploration by Golden Predator has outlined extensive gold-in-soil anomalies over 10 square kilometres, including five high-grade gold in quartz veins that contain coarse visible gold. Exploration work in 2015 and 2016, including metallurgical studies, rotary air blast drilling, reverse circulation drilling and bulk sampling, has focused on establishing the grade and continuity of the Ace of Spades vein (previously called the Sleeping Giant vein). Previous diamond drilling in 2012 had intersected the vein but returned lower-than-expected grades. The work in 2015 and 2016 has confirmed the high grades of the vein, and established a sampling protocol which is resulting in a better estimation of gold grades within the veins. This work, the sampling protocol and the phase II program are designed to significantly advance the understanding and discoveries on the project in 2016 and 2017.

      Golden Predator pours first gold from 3 Aces sample

      2016-08-18 11:06 ET - News Release

      Ms. Janet Lee-Sheriff reports

      GOLDEN PREDATOR POURS FIRST GOLD FROM BULK SAMPLE

      Golden Predator Mining Corp. has released the results of the initial test processing of its winter 2016 bulk sample program from the Ace of Spades vein (formerly named Sleeping Giant vein) at its 3 Aces project. A total of 79.7 dry tonnes (87.83 dry tons) from a stockpile estimated at 750 tons of material was processed intermittently through July 12, 2016. A total of 4,587 grams of concentrate were recovered from the shaker tables, which was poured into a dore bar which contained 81.408 troy ounces of fine gold and 7.771 troy ounces of silver. The company sold the precious metals, and received payment for 99 per cent of the gold and 96 per cent of the silver for a net of $139,062.45. The dore bar weighed 96.72 troy ounces, and contained 85.02 per cent gold and 8.37 per cent silver. Non-payable metals represented the balance of the weight.

      In addition to the precious metal concentrate reported on above, a significant amount of gold remains in the middling or sulphide concentrate which has returned an assay of 986 grams per tonne Au. A significant amount of the gold in this middling concentrate will be recovered through additional third party processing at a later date. Daily head and tail assays collected from the plant after May 5, 2016, continue to indicate above 80-per-cent average overall recovery.

      Processing plant upgrade

      As discussed in the company's interim processing report (Golden Predator's news release dated June 6, 2016), the processing plant experienced good operational productivity from both the jaw crusher and the shaker tables with the hammer mill restricting throughput. After further investigation, the company elected to significantly upgrade its processing equipment in an effort to optimize sample throughput and gold recovery. The company has received a four-foot-by-foot-inch rod mill, and expects to receive twin 16-foot sluice boxes, a magnetic separator and cleanup table, as well as a screen and pump.

      The rod mill will provide a more consistent grind with much greater output than the hammer mill without overgrinding the material. The twin sluices will be installed down circuit from the rod mill. The rod mill combined with the screen and a slurry pump in closed circuit will produce a consistent particle size classification, thereby allowing better gold recovery from the sluices and tables. The use of the twin sluices will provide continuous operation and a high concentration ratio which will require less cleanup with a higher gold content. The magnetic separator and cleanup table will allow the production of a higher gold content concentrate.

      Plant renovations have begun and are expected to be completed within the next few weeks. Once the new circuit is operational, the remaining bulk sample will be processed. The new plant design and equipment are designed to provide better recovery, cleaner concentrates and an increased throughput capacity of approximately 25 tons per day. The company's continuing bulk sample program is intended to provide important metallurgical information while deferring potential shareholder dilution.

      3 Aces project, Yukon

      The 3 Aces property is a 225-square-kilometre property consisting of 1,118 contiguous quartz claims (23,000 hectares) located in southeast Yukon and includes the two highest-grade surface outcrops discovered to date in the Yukon. The veins discovered to date are characterized by coarse nuggetty gold with a low sulphide content consistent with an orogenic vein model. The property is located along the all-season Nahanni Range Road which accesses the Cantung mine located 40 kilometres to the north.

      The 3 Aces property contains a number of quartz veins and vein zones that cut Cambrian-aged limestone, shale, quartz grits and chert pebble conglomerates of the Hyland group. Previous sampling and exploration by Golden Predator has outlined extensive gold-in-soil anomalies over 10 square kilometres, including the five high-grade gold in quartz veins that contain coarse visible gold. Exploration work in 2015 and 2016 to date, including metallurgical studies, rotary air blast drilling, reverse circulation drilling and bulk sampling, has focused on establishing the grade and continuity of the Ace of Spades vein, where previous diamond drilling had intersected the vein but returned lower-than-expected grades. The work in 2015 and 2016 has confirmed the high grades of the vein by establishing a sampling protocol which is resulting in a better estimation of gold grades within the veins. This work, the sampling protocol and the phase II program are designed to significantly advance the understanding and discoveries on the project in 2016 and 2017.

      The 3 Aces property is located in the traditional territory of the Kaska Nation. In January, 2013, Golden Predator signed an exploration agreement with the Kaska Nation, as represented by the Ross River Dena Council and the Liard First Nation, with respect to activities within their traditional territories.

      Ms. Janet Lee-Sheriff reports

      GOLDEN PREDATOR ANNOUNCES NEW GOLD ANOMALY AT 3 ACES

      Golden Predator Mining Corp. has released the results of its 2016 soil sampling program, which include the discovery of a new gold-in-soil zone at its 3 Aces project in Yukon, Canada. The new 1.5-kilometre-by-1.5-kilometre area lies on trend approximately seven to 12 kilometres northwest of the previously identified Central Core area, which is the target of the 2016 drill program. In addition to the new identified area, the Diamond zone, within the Central Core area, has been extended by approximately 950 metres. Soil sampling is recognized as the preferred method to identify near-surface mineralization and drill targets at the 3 Aces project.

      To view the 3 Aces sample program map, please visit the company's website.

      "We are very pleased to see the exciting results of the 2016 soil sampling program and the potential for expansion of the mineralized areas at 3 Aces," said Janet Lee-Sheriff, chief executive officer of Golden Predator. "Since August, 2016, we have focused our efforts successfully on the identification of mineralized veins from soil sampling results which led to the drill program currently under way."

      Soil sampling program

      The newly recognized gold-in-soil anomalies are the result of a large soil sampling program (over 20 square kilometres) undertaken in August and September, 2016. The program was a follow-up to gold-in-silt stream sample results identified in several drainages in the northern regions of the property. Four separate sections were sampled, with a total of 4,139 samples taken along 50-metre-by-100-metre grids. In addition, 20 separate sample lines were run on 100-metre spacings for a total of 667 samples.

      The 2017 work plans will include further exploration on the newly identified anomalies. Additional grid soil sampling work plans will also concentrate on the area between the 2016 sample grids and the Central Core area. The Central Core area hosts a number of high-grade gold occurrences, including the Ace of Hearts zone and the recent discoveries of the Ace of Spades, Jack of Spades, Six of Clubs and Ten of Clubs zones. Results of additional sampling from a number of mineralized veins will be reported on as results are received.

      Golden Predator drills 7.54 m of 32.86 g/t Au at 3 Aces

      2017-01-19 08:07 ET - News Release

      Ms. Janet Lee-Sheriff reports

      GOLDEN PREDATOR INTERSECTS 7.5 M OF 33 G/T GOLD AT THE 3 ACES PROJECT; DISCOVERS SIGNIFICANT STOCKWORK MINERALIZATION

      Golden Predator Mining Corp. has released assay results for the first 13 holes of a total of 54 holes completed in the winter 2016 drill program at the 3 Aces project in southeastern Yukon. Drilling has demonstrated an extension of high-grade gold at the Ace of Spades zone, as well as the exciting discovery of a blind vein and the occurrence of significant assay values in stockwork zones.

      Significant results reported at true width include:

      Hole 3A16-RC-032 intersected 7.54 metres of 32.86 grams per tonne gold from a depth of 16.76 m, including 0.54 m of 252.00 g/t gold; and a new blind vein at a depth of 71.63 m returned 3.23 m of 10.04 g/t gold (hole ended in mineralization);
      Hole 3A16-DD-036 intersected 3.12 m of 13.18 g/t gold from a depth of 10.57 m, including 1.25 m of 26.70 g/t gold;
      Hole 3A16-RC-042 intersected 6.75 m of 25.61 g/t gold from a depth of 17.53 m, including 0.75 m of 146.50 g/t gold;
      Hole 3A16-DD-043 intersected 6.91 m of 14.73 g/t gold from a depth of 15.24 m, including 2.76 m of 26.67 g/t gold.

      Drilling in the two deepest holes also intersected near-surface, lower-grade stockwork gold mineralization, previously unknown on the property. Hole 3A16-RC-032 encountered 6.81 g/t gold across a drilled thickness of 59.44 m from a depth of 16.76 m to the end of the hole with no cut-off; including 29.72 m of 12.07 g/t gold. Similar mineralization was encountered in hole 3A16-DD-043 with 7.45 g/t gold across a drilled thickness of 16.05 m from 15.24 m to 31.29 m. The hole was not sampled below 31.29 m due to poor or no core recovery.

      2016/2017 drill program

      The company completed 54 holes during winter 2016 drill program for a total of 4,315 m, which included 3,776 m of reverse circulation drilling utilizing a larger 5.5-inch centre face-return hammer drill bit and 539 m of PQ-size (3.35-inch) diamond core drilling. Fifty-two of the 54 drill holes reached their targeted depths. Drilling commenced in the Spades zone before testing several previously undrilled targets in the Clubs zone and conducting step-out and infill drilling at the Hearts zone.

      Drilling at the Spades zone included 13 holes at the Ace of Spades, designed to establish, test, refine and optimize drilling and sampling procedures in an area of known mineralization and begin to extend the known mineralization downdip. The Aces of Spades vein remains open along strike and downdip.

      A 20,000-metre drilling program is planned to commence in February, 2017, and will initially focus on the Spades zone then will expand to other areas of the property. Drilling in the Spades zone is intended to test targets including the depth and strike extensions of the Ace of Spades vein, deeper stockwork mineralization, and commence initial drilling at the Jack, Queen, Seven and Three of Spades. As the Clubs and Hearts zone elevations are 350 to 500 m above the Spades zone, and experience heavier snow conditions, follow-up drilling is expected to commence in the third quarter of 2017.

      3 Aces project, Yukon

      The 3 Aces property is a 225-square-kilometre property consisting of 1,118 contiguous quartz claims (23,000 hectares) located in southeast Yukon and includes the two highest-grade surface outcrops discovered to date in Yukon. The property is located along the all-season Nahanni Range Road which accesses the Cantung mine located 40 km to the north. To date, over 30 mineralized veins have been discovered through sampling, trenching, roadwork and drilling with different gold-bearing veins occurring throughout 762 m (2,500 feet) of vertical elevation.

      Surface outcrops of gold-bearing quartz veins were first discovered on the property in 2009. The project was advanced with extensive soil sampling, which outlined significant gold-in-soil anomalies over a central core area of 10.5 square kilometres, and helicopter-supported core drilling. Previous exploration work by Golden Predator in 2015 and 2016, which includes metallurgical studies, rotary air blast (RAB) drilling, reverse circulation drilling and bulk sampling, focused on establishing the grade and continuity of the Ace of Spades vein where previous diamond drilling had intersected the vein but returned lower-than-expected grades. The work in 2015 and 2016 confirmed the high grades of the vein by utilizing a sampling protocol derived from the metallurgical studies that are resulting in a better estimation of gold grades within the veins.

      The 3 Aces property is located in the traditional territory of the Kaska Nation. In January, 2013, Golden Predator signed an exploration agreement with the Kaska Nation, as represented by the Ross River Dena Council and the Liard First Nation, with respect to activities within its traditional territories. The 3 Aces project operates under a Class 4 mining land use permit.

      The technical content of this news release has been reviewed and approved by Mark C. Shutty, CPG, a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101 and an employee of the company.

      Sampling methodology, quality control and quality assurance

      The company has utilized larger-diameter drilling to provide sample material for comparative/effectiveness analysis of past drilling programs, including sampling protocols, assay methods and QA/QC procedures, and to more confidently estimate grades of high-grade veins containing coarse gold.

      All analyses for the drill samples from the program were performed by ALS with sample preparation in Whitehorse, Yukon, Terrace, B.C., or North Vancouver, B.C., and assaying in North Vancouver, B.C. Drill samples were analyzed using a screen metallics gold method (Au-SCR24), or combination of fire assay (Au-AA26) and Au-SCR24 if the sample was located within a mineralized zone or if the Au-AA26 procedure returned a 0.75-part-per-million gold or greater result.

      The screen metallics procedure utilizes a two-kilogram split from each crushed sample, which is pulverized and passed through a 150-mesh screen. The material remaining on the screen (plus fraction) is analyzed in its entirety by fire assay with gravimetric finish. The material that passed through the screen (minus fraction) is homogenized and two 50-gram subsamples are analyzed by fire assay with AAS (atomic absorption spectroscopy) finish and averaged. The plus and minus fraction gold analyses are weight averaged to obtain a final gold determination for the sample.

      No field-split samples were submitted for analysis. The samples generated by reverse circulation drilling consisted entirely of whole interval cuttings, and diamond drill core samples were submitted as whole core intervals. Quality control and assurance (QA/QC) included 12 per cent of the samples, consisting of reject duplicates, blank and certified reference materials.

      2017-01-19 21:34 ET - In the News

      James Kwantes, in the Jan. 5, 2017, edition of Resource Opportunities, tells readers why to buy Golden Predator Mining Corp., recently 75 cents. This is the first time he has recommended the stock. Mr. Kwantes visited Golden Predator's exploration-stage Three Aces gold project in the Yukon last summer. Two of the highest-grade surface outcrops ever found in the Yukon were found at Three Aces. Golden Predator conducted a 4,300-metre drill program at Three Aces in 2016, with results expected in early 2017. The results could be a "catalyst" for the stock, muses Mr. Kwantes. Other good news could come as Golden Predator carries out its drill program for 2017, consisting of up to 25,000 metres. Elsewhere in the territory, Golden Predator owns the Brewery Creek mine, a past-producing heap-leach operation near Dawson. Mr. Kwantes says Golden Predator is well financed and has a "savvy operator," namely Janet Lee-Sheriff, as its chief executive officer. Backers of the company include Eric Sprott, McEwen Mining and Pat DiCapo.

      Antwort auf Beitrag Nr.: 54.128.456 von Schnuerschuh am 20.01.17 18:03:17Es handelt sich bei Golden Predator meiner Meinung nach um einen Frühphasenexplorer der für jeden Anleger ein hohes Risiko birgt aber auch große Chancen. Nun hat GPY aus dem Winterbohrprogramm die ersten 13 Löcher mit sensationellen Ergebnissen öberflächennah. Jetzt wird ab Februar ein 20000 Meter Bohrprogramm angeschlossen mit welchem die nächste Phase der Liegenschaftserschliessung startet. Aufgrund der gefundenen sensationellen "Outcorps" halte ich es für sehr wahrscheinlich das auch die nächsten Bohrergebnisse, welche nicht lang auf sich warten lassen dürften, ziemlich gut aussehen könnten. Auf jeden Fall sollte man unterstellen, dass Rohstoffgrößen wie "Sprott, Mc Ewen oder Pat die Capo nicht ohne Grund große Beteiligungen an dieser Gesellschaft halten.

      Meine Meinung nach handelt es sich bei GPY um eine Gesellschaft bei der die Chancen überwiegen dürften.

      2017-01-24 21:48 ET - In the News

      Jay Taylor, in the Jan. 13, 2017, edition of Gold, Energy & Tech Stocks, refreshes his buy of Golden Predator Mining Corp., recently 74 cents. He previously said buy on April 14, 2016, at 18.5 cents and on Nov. 16, 2016, at 66 cents. Assuming a $1,000 investment for each of the two buys, the $2,000 position is now worth $5,120. Golden Predator recently completed its 2016 drill program at the 3 Aces property in the southeast Yukon, with assay results expected to be released in batches starting in early 2017. A 25,000-metre drill program is planned for 2017. Mr. Taylor has his fingers crossed for "very exciting high-grade drill results." Two of the highest-grade surface outcrops ever discovered in the Yukon were found at 3 Aces, he points out. Another reason for optimism is the "major mining legends" who are financing Golden Predator. Mr. Taylor does not actually name any of the legends, but says they have deep pockets. Golden Predator's senior managers are also in Mr. Taylor's good books because of their friendly relationship with the local Kaska Nation. The newsletter editor concludes that Golden Predator offers "excellent" exploration potential and is one of his favourite stocks.

      "Having survived a prolonged mining industry depression, one of the high profile players in the Yukon gold exploration scene is once again attracting investor interest.

      The timing couldn’t be better for Golden Predator Mining Corp. (TSXV: GPY) as company officials met with institutional investors attending the Precious Metal Summit Conference in Colorado.

      Golden Predator Chairman Bill Sheriff has often said that exploring for gold in the Yukon is not for the faint hearted. But as shown by the recent discovery of high grade gold on Golden Predator’s 3 Aces property, the rewards can sometimes outweigh the challenges.

      Hopes that multiple high grade deposits can be outlined at 3 Aces combined with renewed confidence in the price of gold sent Golden Predator’s stock price soaring to $1.17 on August 16, 2016 from around 14 cents in February. It was a rally that handsomely rewarded investors who have hung in through the exploration slump.

      Even at 87 cents, (market cap $64.3 million based on 73.9 million shares outstanding) on September 14, 2016, the stock is still well ahead of the lows seen earlier this year, putting the company in a good position ahead of the Precious Metals Summit in Colorado.

      As usual, it featured a select group of exploration and development companies who have been able to survive through the bear market and are now poised to thrive.

      The Canadian Yukon remains best known for its placer mining operations, a legacy of the Klondike gold rush in the late 1890s. There are still roughly 1,000 people who make a living by operating placer mines in the Yukon. Hard rock gold exploration, by comparison, has received comparatively little attention.

      But that all changed when Canadian prospector Shawn Ryan went looking for the bedrock source of the placer (riverbed) gold deposits. His methodical soil sampling techniques led to the discovery of geophysical anomaly in 2004 that he later optioned to Underworld Resources, a company that was swallowed in March 2010 by Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX:K). The $138 million Kinross deal sparked a staking rush as well as further discoveries, including Kaminak Gold’s Coffee gold project and Comstock Metals Ltd.’s (TSXV: CSL) QV project (230,000 ounces of inferred gold resources).

      On May 2016, Goldcorp. (TSX: GG) the world's third largest bullion producer, acquired the Coffee Project by striking a deal to acquire Kaminak in a share exchange deal worth $520 million.

      That put the spotlight back on the Yukon, where Sheriff made headlines during a staking rush in January, 2011 by snapping up all of the available claim staking tags from a local mining recording office. Grabbing 70,000 claim tags was a move to save his company money and gain a big leg up on the competition, he explained. At that time, his company had something like 60 geologists on the payroll and focused on a handful of projects, including Brewery Creek, a former heap leach mine which is located about 55 kilometres east of Dawson City. It produced roughly 280,000 ounces of gold between 1996 and 2002 from low grade oxide deposits.

      But the slump in gold exploration that lasted from roughly 2012 to early this year prompted Golden Predator to consolidate its operations and lay off most of its geologists.

      However, it has been rewarded for hanging onto its best projects after initial trenching and sampling discovered mineralized veins, including free gold on the 3 Aces property which is located in southeast Yukon, along the Nahanni Range Road, which provides access to the Cantung Mine, 40 kilometres further north.

      The 3 Aces Project has distinguished itself by yielding some of the highest grade outcrops discovered to date in the Yukon.

      “We think it is one of the most exciting stories anywhere, especially in Canada,’’ Sheriff said during a speech to the Precious Metals Summit on September 16, 2016.

      Watch Chairman of Golden Predator, Bill Sheriff’s video presentation HERE

      Channel sampling in the Sleeping Giant vein returned grades of up to 3.88 ounces of gold per ton (132.91 grams) over 22.63 metres. Grab samples from mineralized shoots that outcrop at surface have assayed at up to 4,820 grams per ton. One of the nice features of orogenic gold systems is they tend to have great continuity at depth.

      Golden Predator optioned the property (covering 23,000 hectares) in 2010, a year after a previous operator discovered bonanza-grade gold mineralization in the Main Zone. From 2010 to 2012, Golden Predator completed 11,410 metres of drilling. Visible gold was identified in new zones, including the Sleeping Giant zone, where surface sampling returned samples with abundant visible gold and “bonanza grades.”

      Golden Predator Chief Executive Officer Janet Lee-Sheriff said exploration results, including the discovery of high grade gold and quartz outcrops at 3 Aces, have been the single most intriguing development in the past couple of years. “We are currently sampling and trenching, building roads and a bridge and will start drilling in October,’’ said Lee-Sheriff. “We have discovered 11 new mineralized veins since the beginning of August, 2016, at least five with visible gold.”

      The company said it plans to drill a minimum of 3,500 metres of 5.5-inch diameter reverse circulation drill holes during 2016, with additional drilling planned to continue into 2017. The occurrence of gold at 3 Aces is so fine grained it tends to accumulate in clusters which appears and metallurgically becomes course gold nuggets.

      Neil Adshead, Investment Strategist at Sprott inc., had a clever question @ the Precious Metal Summit “If you are drilling this nuggety gold deposit with RC then how are you going to split the drill sample…?”. Quite simply, the answer is to process the entire sample, the biggest sample is the best.

      An additional 400 metres of large diameter drilling is also planned, a process that will be greatly facilitated by the construction of a 90-foot single span bridge over the Little Hyland River.

      Golden Predator has a fully-funded $10 million exploration budget for 3 Aces after recently raising $16.3 million from a non-brokered private placement of flow-through and non-flow through units priced at 73 cents and $1 respectively. Each unit consisted of either a flow through or non- flow through common share and one half of a share purchase warrant. The warrants allow the holder to acquire one additional share of the company at $1 for two years after the closing date. The company is reinvigorated with new shareholders including Albert Friedberg, Patrick DiCapo, Eric Sprott and McEwen Mining.

      Canadian gold bug Eric Sprott invested $7.3 million in the non-flow through units. He currently holds a 13.5% stake in the company, rising to 19.4% once the warrants are exercised, and based on 73.8 million common shares outstanding following the private placement.

      Bill Sheriff, who increased his stake in Golden Predator to 31% last year, has said the company expects to generate revenue by processing bulk samples extracted from the property.

      Meanwhile, Golden Predator is working to update a preliminary economic assessment for its Brewery Creek Project. Released in November 2014, it examined the economics of reopening the mine. “The compelling low start-up cost along with the untapped exploration potential of the project should make this an attractive opportunity for prospective joint venture candidate,’’ said Lee-Sheriff at the time.

      On July 13, 2016, the company said it has kicked off a 1,600 metre engineering and metallurgical drill program at Brewery Creek. It said the drilling is focused on three pits that are thought to contain oxidized gold mineralization that was not extracted during mining activity that occurred in the 1990s. The program will feature 18 core holes designed to acquire material for metallurgical testing.

      An additional 11 holes will be drilled around these former pits to re-establish ground water monitor wells and to obtain additional geotechnical information to acquire the final parameters for new pit designs and permit requirements.

      Information gleaned from these programs will be used to complete the mine design for permit submission to the Yukon Environmental and Socio-Economic Assessment Board (YESAB)."

      News
      William Sheriff and Janet Lee-Sheriff's Golden Predator Mining Corp. (GPY), up three cents to 82 cents on 339,000 shares, has received assays of up to 81.35 grams of gold per tonne over 4.57 metres at its 3 Aces project in southeastern Yukon. The assays, from 43 grade-control drill holes into three different areas on the Central Spades zone, produced plenty of high-grade hits, including some that the company called "the highest gold assays returned to date" from the project. Other hits included 43.02 grams per tonne across 13.72 metres, 88.27 grams per tonne across 3.05 metres and 49.37 grams per tonne across 5.33 metres. These were not deep hits, with many of the high-grade intersections topping at, or within a few metres of the surface.

      Habe mir mal die aktuelle MD&A durchgelesen. Da ist ja so einiges passiert im letzten Jahr. Viele neue Claims und Aktivitäten.

      Durch den gestiegenen Goldpreis kommen die Explorer wieder verstärkt aufs Radar der Produzenten.
      Der Kurs ist ja ordentlich zurückgekommen; 50Cent scheint mir nun ein interessantes Niveau zu sein. Bin mal mit einer ersten Position rein.

      Wie geht’s wohl weiter mit dem Predator?
      Ist eine PEA in Sicht?
      Oder gar eine Produktionsentscheidung in 2018?
