NEW YORK, August 17 (newratings.com) - Analyst John Chu of Research Capital initiates coverage of Resin Systems Inc (RS.VSE) with a "speculative buy" rating.
In a research note published this morning, the analyst mentions that the company has entered into partnerships with HD Supply, Global Composite Manufacturing, and FMC Technologies. Resin Systems’ sales are expected to grow substantially to more than $50 million in 2008 and over $80 million by 2009, backed by the HD Supply sales agreement, which is valued at more than $50 million for the forthcoming couple of years, the analyst says. Resin Systems Starts Commercial Shipments
CALGARY, Sept. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Resin Systems Inc. (Nachrichten/Aktienkurs) ("RS") (RS - TSX / RSSYF - OTCBB), a developer of innovative advanced material products, today announced that it has started shipments of RStandard(TM) utility poles from its contract manufacturer's, Global Composite Manufacturing, Inc.("Global"), production facility in Tilbury, Ontario. RS announced the start of commercial production by Global on August 27, 2007.
The resumption of predictable and increasing shipments to customers follows the combined efforts of RS and Global to solve the previously announced manufacturing challenges encountered by RS in 2006. RS now confirms that these issues have been solved and improvements include:
- eliminating production interruptions due to equipment and automation performance issues; - reducing material waste (loss of material during the manufacturing process) to negligible and sustainable targeted levels; - consistently maintaining scrap levels (finished product not meeting RS's quality control) within target levels; and - solving staff availability and cost issues by moving production to southwestern Ontario.
Global is currently operating the first production cell with one shift and plans to add second and third shifts in the fourth quarter. Full production (three shifts) is expected by year-end. With consistent production results and the start of shipments from the first cell, RS and Global are now focused on implementing the improvements on the second production cell. Commissioning and production on the second cell is anticipated in the first of half of 2008.
"Resuming shipments to customers is what we have worked so hard to achieve this year," said Paul Giannelia, president and chief executive officer. "We are confident in reaching full production on the first cell by year-end and commissioning the second cell in the first half of 2008."

RStandard Utility Poles
Production
In January 2007, RS entered into a contract manufacturing relationship
with GCM and relocated the production of RStandard utility poles from Calgary,
AB to Tilbury, ON. The related agreements provided the framework for GCM to
move, upgrade and commission the existing RStandard utility pole manufacturing
equipment, as well as related additions for use in GCM's production of
RStandard utility poles under license from the RS.
GCM's original plans were to begin production in June 2007. Delays in the
readiness of the Tilbury plant deferred the installation and subsequent
start-up of manufacturing on the first production cell to August 2007.
Commercial shipments of utility poles started in September. RStandard utility
poles valued at $0.9 million were shipped from GCM's production facility in
2007, supplying utilities within Canada, the United States and Australia.
In 2008, GCM has shifted its attention to increasing production output on
the first production cell as well as upgrading, installing and commissioning
the second production cell. Optimal production rates for both cells are
expected in the third quarter of this year.
Also in the first quarter of 2008, RS began installing and commissioning
a high-tonnage pultruder in Calgary that will enable RS to develop and
commercialize pultruded utility poles up to 12 metres (40 feet) and pultruded
utility pole accessories for H-frame structures and distribution poles. The
product extensions will allow the Company to enhance its competitiveness in
the distribution pole and H-frame structure markets, both significant market
segments. It is anticipated that the new products will be introduced in fourth
quarter of 2008.
Distribution/Sales
In January 2007, RS signed a distribution agreement with HDs designating
them the exclusive distributor of RStandard utility poles in Canada, the
United States, Mexico, Bermuda, the Bahamas and all the Caribbean Islands. HDs
provided RS with an initial purchase order for RStandard poles with a value
exceeding US$50 million. Initial deliveries under this purchase order have
commenced and will be completed over the next two years.
For the time being, distribution of RStandard utility poles to markets
outside of North America will be handled by RS directly. Outsourcing of
distribution in global markets is planned as demand grows in individual market
areas.
RStandard Roller Tube
RS and FMC completed the development of FMC's line of Link-Belt(R)
Composite Conveyor Idler Rolls made with RStandard composite tubes for above
ground-applications in the first half of 2007 and received certification for
use in underground applications from the U.S. Mining Safety and Health
Administration in the third quarter 2007, adding a significant addressable
market segment for the roller tube business line.
Over the second half of 2007, FMC undertook a variety of activities in
preparation for full-scale production of composite rollers and the full market
launch for Link-Belt(R) Composite Conveyor Idler Rolls, including identifying
and securing pilot installations for the product. Product for more than
50 percent of the identified pilots have been delivered to date. Repeat
regular orders from the initial pilots are expected to begin in the second
quarter of 2008.
The new higher tonnage pultruder currently being installed and
commissioned by RS will also benefit the RStandard roller tube business
allowing RS to produce larger diameter roller tubes and enhance RS's ability
to continue its research and development of new products. The combined
pultrusion capability is expected to be sufficient to supply the full range of
tubes product line during 2008.
Conference Call and Webcast
RS will hold its regular business update conference call and webcast on
March 13, 2008 at 11 a.m. (EDT) / 9 a.m. (MDT). The call will be hosted by
Paul Giannelia, president and chief executive officer of RS and Rob Schaefer,
chief financial officer and corporate secretary of RS, and will contain a
question and answer period.
To participate please dial 1-866-334-4934 (toll-free in North America) or

"We want to assure our customers and shareholders that our utility poles are going to continue to be manufactured in volumes to meet market demand," said Paul Giannelia, president and chief executive officer of RS. The proceedings regarding the injunction are scheduled to occur on November 3, 2008.
The Court-appointed interim receiver for GCM remains in place and RS's agreement with the interim receiver is set to expire at the end of October 31, 2008.

CALGARY, Nov. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Resin Systems Inc. (News) ("RS") (RS - TSX/RSSYF - OTCBB), a technology innovator that develops advanced composite material products for infrastructure markets, announced today that due to the expiration of RS's agreement with the interim receiver for Global Manufacturing Inc. ("IR") and a failure to reach an agreement with the Motor City Community Credit Union ("MCCCU"), RS no longer has full access to its utility pole manufacturing plant in Tilbury, ON, and new utility pole production has ceased pending an Ontario Superior Court of Justice ("Court") decision.
RS has shipped and continues to ship orders that had been produced prior to the expiration of the agreement RS had in place with the IR. RS has and will continue to have access to the manufacturing plant such that raw materials and other supplies on hand are properly maintained. In addition, RS has ensured that proper shut-down procedures were followed at the plant to ensure that resumption of manufacturing operations will not be unduly delayed.
Further to RS's news release dated October 31, 2008, RS is scheduled to appear in Court today at 10 a.m. EST in support of RS's statement of claim filed against MCCCU on October 30, 2008.
RS's equipment at the manufacturing plant is not currently subject to any sales process and RS intends to aggressively defend its ownership of the equipment and pursue an injunction preventing MCCCU from proceeding with a sales process of the manufacturing equipment.
RS will provide an update following the Court's decision. About RS
