OPEL International files 3rd Quarter Financials
Shelton, CT and Toronto, ON, November 24, 2008 – OPEL International Inc. (TSX-V: OPL) (“OPEL” or “the
Company”), a leading global developer and supplier of high concentration photovoltaic (HCPV) and other solar
products, today announced the filing on SEDAR of its Financial Statements and the Management’s Discussion
and Analysis for the 9-month period ended September 30, 2008 (collectively the “Financials”).
The Financials show significant revenue growth over the second quarter of 2008 and the same quarter in 2007.
OPEL continues to make strides toward its goals and objectives for 2008, as outlined in the Company’s MD&A.
The Company has been granted the necessary governmental and utility permits to move forward on its
previously announced grid field installation in Spain which will provide higher levels of revenue in the coming
quarters.
In commenting on the Financials, Michael McCoy, OPEL’s Chief Financial Officer said: «With an HCPV
backlog of more than 1MW, a growing tracker business, a manufacturing capability ready to fulfill those orders
and about US$20 million in cash, OPEL is well poised for growth. »

Der letzte Quartlasbericht zeigt, dass über 11 Mio Dollar Cash vorhanden sind. Kapitalerhöhungen sind nicht geplant. Working Capital beträgt 24 Mio Dollar.

Abgeschlossen wurden Verträge mit Boeing Spectrolab zur Lieferung von Solarzellen ( triple junction, Umfang 10 MW) und einem Hersteller der Module in Mexiko.

In der Produktpipeline befinden sich außerdem noch Tracker Systeme ( Dual Axis, OEM mit Feina aus Spanien )

Opel möchte als "third party" - Lieferant dienen oder eigene Systeme installieren und betreiben.

Unter den bisher sich auf dem Markt befindenden CPV Unternehmen ist Opel m.M. gut aufgestellt, zumal die Zertifizierung durch ist und viele kleinere Projekte realsiert wurden.

Verbesserungswürdig ist die PR. Die Homepage sollte ebenfalls mal überarbeitet werden ( z.B. Bilder von beendeten Projekten, Einstellung von Presentationen ( eine von 2007 gibt es hier : http://opelinc.net/webcast/index.html ))

OPEL International and Partner Installing 440kW of High Concentration Panels in Spain
Installation to Provide Power to Over 500 Spanish Households
Toronto, ON, and Shelton, CT,

OPEL International Inc. (TSX-V: OPL) ("OPEL"), a leading global developer and supplier of high concentration photovoltaic ("HCPV") and other solar products, today announced that it has begun supplying OPEL's HCPV panels to build a utility grade solar power plant of 440 kilowatt (kW) in Spain under an agreement with BETASOL. When completed, the grid is expected to supply cost effective and energy efficient power to over 500 households.

"This deployment of 440 kW of HCPV panels is one of the first significant installations in the HCPV marketplace and is an important milestone for OPEL," said Robert Pico, CEO of OPEL International. "We are excited about our new and expanding relationship with our partner, BETASOL, and look forward to reporting on our progress with this leading solar technology in the near future."

BETASOL is a Spanish company located in a prime area of Spain for solar deployments. Its business is building utility grade solar farm installations and their subsequent sale to investor groups. Solar farms are a collection of solar panels mounted on trackers that convert solar energy into electricity.

The shipment of OPEL’s panels for the installation began in December, and the project is planned for completion in the first quarter of 2009.

“We at BETASOL are very pleased to be in partnership with OPEL, one of the leading HCPV suppliers in the world,” said Jesus Cabetas, Managing Director of BETASOL. “OPEL’s greatly improved panel efficiency allows attractive rates of returns on our Spanish solar projects.”

OPEL is supplying this project with its original design Mk-I high concentration panels (HCPVs) to be mounted on a tracker system. These panels are a highly cost effective solution and complement the recently-announced changes in Spain’s feed-in tariff structure. The deployment of OPEL’s energy efficient panels is expected to result in a favorable operating return for the project.

“Mk-I HCPV panel design uses cost effective materials and concentrates light from the sun more than 500 times,” Pico added. “This product has conversion efficiency up to twice that of silicon solar panels and more than three times that of thin film solar panels making it an optimum solution for solar grid field installations.”

OPEL will continue its work with additional Spanish partners on solar farm field projects in other locations in Spain in 2009.

wollte eigentlich bei 17 nachkaufen, aber dann gab es auf einmal diesen sprung...
die quartalszahlen 3/2008 sehen besser aus als 2006, sind gut aufgestellt, viele patente & aufträge. die 0,5 können kommen.

Wie kommst du eigentlich auf die 1,5 CAD ?
Irgend ein Börsenbrief hat wohl als Kursziel 2 CAD angegeben, jedoch habe ich diesbezüglich nichts gefunden.
Ich bin bei 22 Cent eingestiegen. Opel International ist ja eine kanadische Solar-Aktie und in Kanada soll am 6.Mai auch ein Erneuerbare-Energien-Gesetz in Kraft treten. Des Weiteren wird Solar-Energie zukünftig in USA und China immer mehr gefördert. Wird bestimmt sehr spannend und hoffentlich sehr grün in Zukunft. Was war eigentlich der Grund für den stetigen Kursrückgang in der Vergangenheit ?

Habe auch vom angestrebten Kursziel von 2Cad gehört, aber nicht selbst recherchiert. Daher sind die 1,5 nur eine persönliche Einschätzung. Habe gelesen, dass Opel auch Infrarot-Sensorik für militärische Verwendungen herstellt und vermute auch dieser Bereich ist ertragreich.
Was ist das für ein Gesetz, welches im Mai in Kraft treten wird? Gibt es da einen Link?

Warum der Kurs erst jetzt steigt? Keine Ahnung, aber er steigt.
