Nein, falsch. Du musst es ja an die seitdem vollzogene Kursentwicklung anpassen. +Dann dürfte das wahrs. erheblich anders aussehen.

EU PVSEC: 3M to expand Singapore manufacturing facility

In order to meet the needs of its customers, 3M will be expanding its Scotchshield Film manufacturing facility in Singapore. The construction is expected to be completed sometime in 2011. “3M remains enthusiastically committed to this market with the expansion of our manufacturing capacity,” said Scott Norquist, manager of energy generation for the 3M Renewable Energy Division. “This expansion will support our efforts to grow and broaden the 3M Scotchshield Film product portfolio.”

3M will be at EU PVSEC from September 6 through September 10 at booth L2/H4/B21.

ST. PAUL - Der Mischkonzern 3M verlängert sein Übernahme-Angebot für den Biometrie-Spezialisten Cogent. Bis zum Ablauf einer ersten Frist in der Nacht hatte das US-Unternehmen bei den Cogent-Aktionären 46,4 Millionen Aktien eingesammelt, wie 3M am Freitag in St. Paul mittelte. Dies entspricht 52 Prozent der Anteile.

Die neue Frist soll am 22. Oktober wieder um Mitternacht enden. 3M bietet pro Aktie weiterhin 10,50 US-Dollar. Damit wird Cogent insgesamt mit 943 Millionen Dollar bewertet. Der Kurs der Cogent-Aktie lag kurz nach Börsenstart an der Wallstreet bei 10,50 Dollar und verlor damit im Vergleich zum Vortag 0,28 Prozent./alg/he

Elektronikgeschäft treibt Mischkonzern 3M


ST. PAUL - Der US-Mischkonzern 3M eilt von Rekord zu Rekord. Im dritten Quartal erzielte der Hersteller der Post-it-Haftzettel und Scotch-Brite-Haushaltsreiniger den höchsten Umsatz seiner Firmengeschichte mit 6,9 Milliarden Dollar (5,0 Mrd Euro). Das waren 11 Prozent mehr als im Vorjahreszeitraum. Der Gewinn stieg sogar um 16 Prozent auf unterm Strich 1,1 Milliarden Dollar.

Konzernchef George Buckley zeigte sich am Donnerstag am Firmensitz in St. Paul (US-Bundesstaat Minnesota) erfreut darüber, dass der Aufschwung quer durchs Unternehmen reichte. Herausragend war das Geschäft mit Elektronikbauteilen. 3M ist eines der am breitesten aufgestellten Unternehmen der Welt. Die Produktpalette reicht vom Industriekleber über Autozubehör bis hin zu Büroartikeln.

3M wächst nicht zuletzt durch ständige Zukäufe. Eine der größten Übernahmen in letzter Zeit war die US-amerikanische Cogent. 3M to Acquire Winterthur Technologies AG
Acquisition Enhances Abrasives Offering
ST. PAUL, Minn. & Zurich – Dec. 6, 2010 – 3M and Winterthur Technologies AG (“Winterthur”)
announced today that they have entered into an agreement for 3M’s acquisition of Winterthur for
CHF 62.00 (USD $63.56) per share by way of a public tender offer. The proposed transaction has
an aggregate value of approximately USD $448 million.
Winterthur is a leading global supplier of precision grinding technology serving customers in the
growing area of hard-to-grind precision applications in industrial, automotive, aircraft, and cutting
tools.
The Board of Directors of Winterthur unanimously recommends the offer to Winterthur’s
shareholders. The Chairman of Winterthur has entered into an irrevocable undertaking with 3M to
tender his 14 percent of the shares in Winterthur. The offer is conditional upon a tendering of 66.67
percent of the shares of Winterthur and satisfying certain other customary closing conditions and
regulatory approvals. The transaction is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2011.
Winterthur participates in the more than $14 billion abrasives market, which is projected to grow at
a rate of greater than 4 percent per year. Demand for hard-to-grind and high-precision materials is
fueling the need for improved grinding and finishing processes.
“Adding Winterthur enhances and extends our existing product line, enabling us to provide
solutions for a broader range of industrial grinding and finishing needs,” said Chris Holmes, vice
president and general manager, 3M Abrasive Systems Division.
3M Abrasive Systems Division brings continuous innovation to surface modification through an
ongoing commitment to meet customers’ evolving needs. Combining Winterthur with 3M will help
extend 3M’s reach in numerous abrasives applications.

On a GAAP reported basis, 3M estimates the acquisition to be slightly dilutive to earnings in the
first 12 months following completion of the transaction. Excluding purchase accounting
adjustments and anticipated integration expenses, 3M estimates the acquisition to be slightly
accretive to earnings over the same period.
Winterthur employs approximately 1300 people with first six months 2010 sales of USD $114
million, up more than 30 percent over the same period last year.
