Cliffmont Signs Purchase Agreement for the 100% Acquisition of the San Luis Gold Project, Colombia

Cliffmont Signs Purchase Agreement for the 100% Acquisition of the San Luis Gold Project, Colombia

VANCOUVER, Jan. 4, 2012 /CNW/ - Cliffmont Resources Ltd. (TSX-V - CMO) ("Cliffmont" or the "Company") announces an update to its news release on October 3, 2011 regarding the acquisition of a 100% interest in a property in Colombia. In October the Company finalized a Letter of Intent (LOI) and has now entered into a definitive Purchase Agreement for the acquisition of an 100% interest in the San Luis Property ("the Project") consisting of one granted mineral contract totalling 2,623 hectares, located in the Department of Huila, Colombia. The Company will acquire all the shares of Tarana Resources S.A. (Panama) ("Tarana") which owns 100% of the shares of Sociedad Del Alto S.A.S. (Colombia) ("Del Alto"), a private Colombian company duly established and registered at the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá D.C., and which holds the San Luis property.

The San Luis Project encompasses multiple epithermal gold and silver targets. Given the strong potential at the San Luis Project, the Company plans to focus its efforts on further defining the extents of known epithermal structures as well as identifying and following up on other mineralization recently discovered. Over the past few years, approximately $1.5 million was spent on geochemical sampling, mapping and geophysics focusing on the Project's epithermal potential.

"We are very pleased to have identified a project of this significant potential in what we feel is one of the more prolific, underdeveloped jurisdictions in Colombia," said Cliffmont Resources President and CEO Jeff Tindale. "Cliffmont has been in Colombia for over a year evaluating several projects and building a strong social, environmental and technical team. We are now ready to move the San Luis project aggressively forward."

Summary of the San Luis Project

The San Luis Gold Project (2,623 Ha) is located in the Department of Huila, Colombia, approximately 80 kilometres NW of the capital city, Neiva. The approximate driving time between Neiva and the Project is 2.5 hours. The San Luis Project has established infrastructure, including road access, power and water and is located on the Eastern flank of the Central Cordillera at a relatively low altitude ranging from 1,400 metres to 2,100 metres.

San Luis has a rich history of mining in the area dating back to the 19th century. There are over 31 historical mines at the Project. The historical high grade gold and silver mineralization in these mines is related to quartz veins within andesite dykes in volcanic clastics and granodiorites host rocks. Also, and importantly, the gold and silver vein structures occur over a vertical zonation greater than 500 metres Project-wide indicating potential favourable vertical continuity of mineralization. Lastly, gold and silver mineralization has been traced on surface for over 3 kilometres along various vein structures at the Project area.

History of the San Luis Project

From 1993 to 1997, TVX Minería Ltda. ("TVX") carried out prospecting programs. The field programs were designed to evaluate the economic potential of the gold within the historical mines of the Project area. The work identified numerous vein structures resulting in high gold grades with significant amounts of free gold amenable to low-cost recovery using gravimetric methods. TVX recognized that the strongest mineralization occurred between 1,400m and 2,100m above sea level, indicating that the depth of continuity of mineralization for the many vein structures at the Project may be substantial.

In 1997 geophysical surveys were carried out over these primary gold vein deposits at the Project area. The work comprised Magnetometry, Radiometrics, and Induced Polarization. The Company is evaluating the results of these surveys and is planning a targeted follow-up program as part of its 2012 high priority target definition drill program.

Between 2004 and 2009, a joint venture between Anglogold Ashanti ("AGA") - B2Gold and the current Vendors carried out a field exploration program. In July 2004, Kedahda S. A. ("Kedahda"), a subsidiary of AGA, began exploration at the Project area. Results from this program identified several new high priority target areas at the Project where potential for near surface porphyry-style mineralization exists.

In October 2008, B2Gold followed up on AGA's field exploration programs with detailed concentration in the high priority areas that comprised well-defined mineralization. B2Gold defined numerous veins of quartz-pyrite-galena+/-chalcopyrite-calcite-iron oxide and manganese oxide in addition to verifying the high grade gold and silver epithermal style mineralization.

Additionally, and important to the Company, B2Gold identified a fine grained intrusive diorite with biotitic-potassic alteration with disseminated and veinlet-hosted pyrite at the Project. This target's signature is considered significant as it indicates a potential porphyry mineralized system that may exist at or near surface and remains unexplored. This target coupled with the prolific epithermal gold and silver mineralization explored and mined to date adds substantially to the potential size and scope of the long-term prospects for the Company.

Cliffmont is planning an aggressive exploration program of underground and surface sampling, geophysics and drilling. The San Luis district indicates the potential to localize other mineralization contained in stockwork, hydrothermal breccias and gold and gold-copper porphyry systems.

      Terms of the Purchase Agreement

Under the terms of the purchase agreement, Cliffmont will acquire all of the shares of Tarana (which indirectly owns the San Luis Property) from the shareholders of Tarana (the "Vendors"), for total consideration of:

      (a)

The payment of CAD$2,000,000 as follows:

Cliffmont drills three m of 1,175.5 g/t Ag at San Luis

      2012-10-11 08:44 ET - News Release

      Mr. Jeff Tindale reports

CLIFFMONT DISCOVERS HIGH GRADE GOLD AND SILVER MINERALIZATION IN INITIAL DRILL PROGRAM IN HUILA, COLOMBIA

Cliffmont Resources Ltd. has released initial drill results from the 2012 phase one drill program at the San Luis project in Huila department, Colombia. A total 1,219.60 metres from the first five drill holes are being reported. Two high-priority targets were tested and results confirm continuity of high-grade gold mineralization at depth below two past-producing mines. This is the first time the project has been drill tested.

      Significant drilling highlights

      Merceditas mine

The objective of hole SLD-05 was to intersect the Merceditas vein at depth to show continuity of mineralization below the mine workings. A new mineralized zone was discovered approximately 100 metres above the mine workings which averages 1,175.5 grams per tonne (g/t) silver over three metres starting at 16 metres below surface in saprolite.

The primary vein structure which was intersected at 183.95 metres downhole (approximately 50 metres below the mine workings averages 8.23 g/t gold over 1.45 metres).

A new and parallel vein structure was intersected approximately seven metres below the primary vein structure. It averages 8.21 g/t gold over one metre. This vein structure is a new discovery. To date, it has not been tested at shallow depths although it is likely it parallels the mine workings.

      San Jorge mine

The objective of the drill program is to test high-grade historic channel sampling by TVX Mineria Ltd. in 1997. The TVX channel sampling averaged 39.09 grams per tonne gold and 11.66 grams per tonne silver over a width of 1.52 metres for 71.72 metres. (See press release dated May 31, 2012.)

Hole SLD-04 intersected gold mineralization averaging 17.87 g/t gold over three metres, including 0.50 metre averaging 106 g/t gold approximately 40 metres below the level of the TVX sampling (level 1872). The intersection demonstrates the continuity of the mineralization to depth.

Hole SLD-03, a deeper test of the mineralization, intersected 11.44 g/t gold over 2.08 metres approximately 70 metres below level 1872. The results of this hole indicate a sizable area of potential mineralization that requires drill testing.

Jeff Tindale, president and chief executive officer, states: "We are delighted with these early results. The discovery of two new zones of mineralization at Merceditas, as well as the intersection of the primary vein structure 50 metres below the mine workings, is extremely encouraging and a great start in Cliffmont's evaluation of this target. The San Jorge results show the high-grade mineralization continues to depth and has identified a large area of potential mineralization that requires drill testing. This is a great beginning for Cliffmont with many drill holes still pending. We have several other targets on our property to test and this initial success will enable the company to continue to expand on these discoveries."

The company's strategy is to test for continuity of mineralization below past-producing mines. The plan includes the evaluation and blocking of mineralization to explore the possibilities of a near-term production decision while continuing to explore and evaluate numerous other larger areas of thicker mineralization.

San Jorge is in the upper part of the epithermal system at an elevation of 2,000 metres and currently is an exploitation licence. The first four holes (983.6 metres) of the company's initial drill program have been completed at San Jorge. San Jorge is a past-producing historic mining area. The company plans to continue testing the San Jorge mineralization as it has substantial lateral extent on surface with several coincidental geochemical anomalies.

At Merceditas there is potential for significant gold and silver mineralization below and adjacent to the mine workings. Merceditas is located lower in the epithermal system at an elevation of 1,700 metres. The company believes the Merceditas target has the potential to host a significant body of mineralization as determined from the recent drilling, geochemical sampling, mapping and geophysical survey work completed to date.

Cliffmont drills 2.4 m of 39.24 g/t Au at San Luis

      2013-01-08 08:06 ET - News Release

      Mr. Jeff Tindale reports

CLIFFMONT DRILLS 39.24 G/T GOLD AND 15.35 G/T SILVER OVER 2.40 METRES IN INITIAL DRILL CAMPAIGN AT SAN LUIS PROJECT, HUILA, COLOMBIA

Cliffmont Resources Ltd. has released further drill results from the 2012 phase I drill program at the San Luis project in the Huila department, Colombia. A total 2,203.9 metres (12 holes) from the San Jorge, El Callao and Merceditas prospects are being reported. Further drill results are expected shortly from the La Julia area which lies in the north of the property and is a newly identified gold target. Cliffmont's current drill program is the first drill program ever undertaken on the San Luis project.

Jeff Tindale, president and chief executive officer, states: "We are very pleased with the drill results from San Jorge and El Callao as they confirm the mineralization continues at depth and also confirm that the areas of high-grade mineralization seen in historical underground sampling can potentially be mined in the future. The company is currently assessing options for drifting on the mineralized veins to fully explore them and to delineate areas of potential economic mineralization for a possible small-scale mining operation."

The company's strategy is to test for continuity of mineralization below past-producing mines. The plan includes the evaluation and blocking out of mineralization to explore the possibilities of a near-term production decision while continuing to explore and evaluate numerous other larger areas of wider mineralization. The San Jorge prospect has two exploitation contract concessions and is the first area for advanced development work in the extensive San Luis project area.

      San Jorge mine drilling

The drill program's objective was to confirm historical channel sampling performed by TVX Mineria Ltd. in 1997 which averaged 39.09 grams per tonne gold and 11.66 grams per tonne silver over a width of 1.52 metres for 71.72 metres and to extend the mineralization at depth. (See press release May 31, 2012.)

Drill hole SLD-19 intersected the mineralization at a depth of approximately 80 metres and approximately 50 metres north of SLD-01:

39.24 grams per tonne gold and 15.35 grams per tonne silver over 2.40 metres, including 0.40 metre averaging 235 grams per tonne gold and 90.70 grams per tonne silver.

The intersection, which is open, confirms the continuity of mineralization below the mine and to the north.

Cliffmont has confirmed through its recent drilling that the northern high-grade gold and silver mineralization at San Jorge increases in grade to at least 80 metres depth and remains open. Holes SLD-01 and SLD-19 cut higher-grade intersections than any historical sampling. Both holes were drilled below historical workings from which sampling returned the following intercept (news release of May 31, 2012):

Vein and wallrock combined: 45.04 metres samples averaged 1.66 grams per tonne gold and 0.56 gram per tonne silver over a width of 1.66 metres.

The results indicate a sizable area of potential mineralization that requires drill testing.

      El Callao mine drilling

The drill program's objective was to test and extend to depth historical mineralization in the El Callao vein identified by TVX Mineria in 1997. The mineralization averaged 8.74 grams per tonne gold over a width of 1.07 metres along a length of 115 metres (see press release Aug. 23, 2012).

      Highlights:

SLD-08, drilled around 75 metres under the old workings, intersected 1.49 grams per tonne gold and 4.62 grams per tonne silver over 9.14 metres, including 12.12 grams per tonne gold, 27.96 grams per tonne silver, 0.2 per cent copper, 1.87 per cent lead and 0.75 per cent zinc over 0.92 metre. The intersection has extended the mineralization to a depth of approximately 75 metres beneath the old mine workings.
SLD-10, drilled around 10 metres under the old workings, intersected 0.60 gram per tonne gold and 3.38 grams per tonne silver over 3.05 metres, including 2.59 grams per tonne gold, 15.00 grams per tonne silver, 3.58 per cent lead and 2.93 per cent zinc over 0.55 metre.
SLD-13, drilled around 60 metres under the old workings, intersected 1.58 grams per tonne gold and 3.91 grams per tonne silver over 4.18 metres, including 5.55 grams per tonne gold, 14.42 grams per tonne silver, 1.01 per cent lead and 1.38 per cent zinc over 0.95 metre.

The mineralization remains open along strike and to depth.

Hole SLD-14 was drilled around 210 metres south of hole SLD-13 to test for a north-trending structure. There were no significant intersections in the hole.

A total of six holes (1,049.5 metres) were drilled at Callao.

      Merceditas drilling

The drill program's objective was to confirm continuity at Merceditas. Limited work has been completed at the mine due to accessibility.

Five holes (974 metres) were drilled to test the continuity of the Merceditas gold-silver mineralization. As previously reported (news release of Oct. 11, 2012) hole SLD-05 intersected:

      A significant and shallow new zone of silver-gold mineralization, starting at 2.50 metres depth and approximately 100 metres above the mine workings;
      8.23 grams per tonne gold over 1.45 metres in the primary vein structure approximately 50 metres below the mine workings;
8.21 grams per tonne gold in a new vein structure located approximately 7.00 metres below the primary vein structure.

Hole SLD-06 was drilled as an undercut to SLD-05 to test the mineralization at depth. It is interpreted to have cut the host structure. Holes SLD-07, 09 and 12 were drilled from the same platform approximately 50 metres southeast of SLD-05. Holes SLD-07 and 09 did not intersect the structure/mineralization because of severe deviation problems. However, hole SLD-12 did intersect 19.0 metres with anomalous gold mineralization at 215 metres downhole which indicates the Merceditas mineralization likely continues to depth. Hole SLD-15 was drilled to test the mineralization approximately 50 metres northwest of hole SLD-05. It intersected elevated to anomalous gold values from 85.0 to 92.0 metres downhole.

Was war denn das für ein komischer Kurssprung um 200% bei überdurchschnittlichem Volumen auf 20Cent in FRA heute? In CAN weiter 0,1CAD. Kurs sollte dort auch langsam mal anziehen. Die Tiefs haben wir bei den meisten Werten gesehen, denke ich (bzw. hoffe ich :-)
