Zijin Mining has an aggressive growth strategy.
The assets acquired over the last 7 months should lead to an increase of gold production by 45% and copper production by more than 100%.
ADRs of Zijin Mining are fairly valued right now and come with a dividend yield of 3%.
Zijin Mining (OTCPK:ZIJMF, OTCPK:ZIJMY) is the largest gold producer and the second-largest copper producer in China. Although the company is comparable to Agnico Eagle (NYSE:AEM) or Sibanye Gold (NYSE:SBGL) based on the volume of gold production, it was only little known to western investors just a couple of months ago. Swiss gold flows for May continue to show gold moving from West to East.
Data also shows that physical exports were actually up 10% year-over-year which suggests demand has not slackened.
Most gold continues to come from the UK and investors should pay close attention to how long that can continue...

Though the true amounts are debatable, it's generally conceded that China is importing a lot of gold.
What's not included in this calculation - but should be - are the deposits its mining companies are acquiring overseas. This gold-in-the-ground is just as much a national monetary asset as is metal accumulated by Chinese investors and - to the extent that the mining companies sell their output to the government - can be expected to add to Chinese central bank gold holdings over time.
Most recently, China's Zijin Mining Group (OTCPK:ZIJMY) not only made another Australian acquisition but raised $1.6 billion to keep the M&A binge going:

Hungary has signed an agreement with China officially joining Beijing’s ambitious Silk Road network, a Chinese Foreign Ministry statement said.
Hungary becomes the first European country to join China’s “One Belt, One Road” project. The Silk Road could be the second China-led project in recent months to attract a flurry of EU participation.
The agreement on the Silk Road was signed on Saturday by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his Hungarian counterpart Peter Szijjarto.
“China will work together with Hungary to step up the modernization of the Budapest-Belgrade railroad, and the construction of China-Europe land-sea express line and other major infrastructure projects,” Wang was quoted by Chinese state agency Xinhua. China is helping fund and build a railway connecting Hungary and Serbia
