ZAP and Jonway Auto Receives 25,000 Committed Orders for its Newest Electric Vehicles Models of URBEE and SPARKEE

SANTA ROSA, Calif., April 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- ZAP (ZAAP), an Electric Vehicle (EV) automotive company incorporated in California and headquartered in Santa Rosa, California, jointly with Jonway Auto, its subsidiary in Zhejiang, China, announce the receipt of 25,000 committed direct orders for its newest EV models of URBEE and SPARKEE. An independent super dealer company was set up by Jonway Group to manage the volume orders and the logistics of managing the new dealers in multiple regions in China.

The aggregate committed purchase orders of over 25,000 were placed with down payments from more than 30 new dealers in Beijing, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Henan, Hebei, Xian, Jinan, Shandong, and Nantong. These new dealers are the long established major dealership partners of Jonway Group from Jonway Motorcycle business. Most of the orders were placed for the full electric URBEE, which is viewed by these dealers as a well-positioned product for the metro cities of China and a new entry into the market space that addresses the mass market demands at the right price with quality. With a driving range of over 150 km per charge, it is ideally suited for daily city driving with overnight recharging.

The launch of URBEE in April at the exhibitions held in China generated tremendously positive responses from dealers that are confident of sales and ready to buy in quantities for their dealerships. Strong market interests for the URBEE continue, as more of these new dealers are qualified and being signed up with quantity purchase orders. SPARKEE, which is priced at the higher end, received more than 2,000 orders from local Chinese dealers. Production of both URBEE and SPARKEE has begun, as the Jonway Auto factory readies itself for the volume manufacturing delivery of 2,000 vehicles per month starting June 2014. Delivery of these 25,000 vehicles is scheduled over the next six months.

Auto sales in China reached 22 million in 2013, far exceeding any other markets in the world. This represents a 14% increase compared to 2012. Car ownership remains a low percentage with only 120 million vehicles on the road. With the Chinese government focused at supporting and stimulating EV adoption in China, the overall market sentiments towards full electric vehicles have evolved quickly and positively, with a willingness to purchase EVs if at the right price.

ZAP and Jonway Auto is realigning its entire business on electric and clean energy vehicles (CNG and hybrids), and are bringing on a new set of dealerships and new management experienced in this space. With these volume purchase orders of the smaller EVs in the pipeline ready for delivery this year, ZAP and Jonway Auto can now leverage the customer experience and sales network that is being established to gain competitive market edge and gain momentum in the full production of electric vehicles at its factory, with initial delivery of 2,000 per month and targeting 3,000 per month towards latter part of this year.

ZAP and Jonway Auto Signs With Major OEM Partner AIMA
      by EV NEWS REPORT
      http://evnewsreport.com

AIMA to Strengthen EV Sales Dealership Network

SANTA ROSA, Calif. – ZAP (ZAAP), an Electric Vehicle (EV) automotive company incorporated in California Bay Area, and its subsidiary Jonway Auto strengthens its EV sales distribution network with signing an OEM contract with AIMA, the largest producer of EV motorcycles in the world to manufacture and produce a new version of the URBEEs. AIMA will be selling the new URBEE models through its 2000 EV motorcycle dealers all over China. AIMA is headquartered in Tianjin and had sales of over 3 million electric motorcycles last year in China. AIMA, working with Jonway Auto funded a new design of the URBEE family to provide a unique look for its brand. Sales of these new models will commence in January 2015, and the products will be manufactured in Jonway Auto’s factory in Zhejiang Province, just south of Shanghai.

AIMA is one of five major OEM partners that Jonway Auto has signed strategic agreements with. The strong interest stems from a growing community of users in China that need an affordable city transportation vehicle but may not have a driver’s license. Categorized as a low speed vehicle, the URBEEs can be driven on city streets with a maximum speed limit of 35 mph but does not require the driver to hold a driver’s license. The other OEM partners are Sunra from Jiangsu Province, third largest EV motorcycle manufacturer in China, Zongshen, the largest EV 3- wheel motorcycle manufacturer in China, also based out of Jiangsu, Da Jiang from Hebei Province, and Wu Yang from Henan Province. In anticipation of legal categorization of low speed vehicles in China, these manufacturers are gearing up sales. Each of these companies has paid for their own unique look and feel of the URBEE to market into their dealership networks. The motorcycle dealerships’ current targeted market aligns with the customers that are interested in the URBEE product because these customers are generally city commuters looking for an affordable vehicle driving at city speeds, with a comfortable ride and compact enough for easy parking. With 30 million EV motorcycles sold last year in China, this sector of the Chinese market is very familiar and comfortable with “plug-ins”. The URBEE with 150km in range is more than sufficient for a day’s commute, and most likely would only require a couple of recharges per week.

The Eco-friendly EV URBEE designed as a “small, big” car for the cities, is easy to get in and out of, and is ideally suited pricewise as a utility vehicle for the young adults and also the aging population that never had a driver’s license. With heating and air conditioning in the electric vehicle, the URBEEs are weather proof and safer than motorcycles.

ZAP (OTC: ZAAP) A Stock to Watch
      BY JEFF ADAMS / EQUITIESFOCUS.COM / NOVEMBER 26, 2014 AT 2:35 PM

ZAP (OTCMKTS: ZAAP) has been moving in a bearish trend since start of the year ,2014, but the stock did saw a major bullish rally in the month of March , 2014 when it touched its high of $0.40 at a trading volume of around $4.47 million.

After March ZAAP facing a steep downward trend till now. The share price saw it’s highest of $0.44 while its lowest was $0.07 in last one year. The stock maintains good liquidity with average volume of 0.1 million shares per day.

ZAP (OTCMKTS: ZAAP) is up for another renewal. Tuesday’s midterm election ballot includes a question about whether county voters want to extend the tax for another decade. As taxes go, ZAP seems among the most palatable, perhaps even popular. A penny for every $10 purchase — that helps underwrite Zoo, Arts and Parks projects throughout the county. ZAP looking solid for 10 more years.

ZAP (OTCMKTS: ZAAP) and Jonway Auto designs and manufactures quality, affordable new energy and electric vehicles (EVs). Jonway Automobile has ISO 9000 manufacturing facilities, certified for EV manufacturing, and engineering, sales and customer services facilities in China. Jonway has production capacity of up to 50,000 vehicles per year, over 1 million square feet of factory space, and over 65 acres of land and established sales distribution network in China. ZAP, an early pioneer of EVs, brings to both companies a broad range of EV product technologies. ZAP is headquartered in Santa Rosa, California and Jonway Auto is located in Zhejiang Province of the People’s Republic of China.

The company has total liabilities of $106.62 million resulting in positive equity. ZAAP trading in green and continues to trade in impressive volume, however does not seem to be moving anywhere close to its earlier position in the near future. Considering the fundamentals its market capitalization of $39.97 million is not justifiable.

ZAP (OTC: ZAAP) Pre-Qualified for USPS Next Generation Delivery Vehicle
SANTA ROSA, Calif., April 21, 2015 - PRNewswire
ZAP (ZAAP: OTC), an Electric Vehicle (EV) automotive company incorporated in California Bay Area received pre-qualification notice from the United States Postal Service ("USPS") for its Next Generation Delivery Vehicle ("NGDV"). On April 10, 2015, USPS notified the Company that ZAP was selected as a pre-qualifier for the development of new energy efficient postal delivery vehicles under the USPS's Next Generation Delivery Vehicle ("NGDV") program.

This pre-qualification selection was a result of a Request for Information and Prequalification/Sources Sought by USPS for its NGDV issued on January 20, 2015. The purpose of this Request was to inform prospective suppliers on the USPS's preliminary draft specifications and plans for the acquisition of the NGDV fleet replacements. The USPS operates a fleet of over 200,000 vehicles in all areas of the United States and its territories. The contract, when awarded to a single supplier, will call for delivery of a minimum of 3,000 vehicles by January, 2018 to start with.

ZAP had been working with USPS since 2009 on the initial proposal for clean energy vehicles. ZAP was at that time selected as one of a few vendors to undergo trial to be selected to supply USPS with electric power train conversion of their traditional USPS trucks. After several years of trial, USPS decided last year that this program to adopt clean energy vehicles should be done with completely new trucks or vans more suitably designed to be powered by clean energy.
This latest Request for Information pre-qualified ZAP to participate in the formal response for proposal and to begin a trial with the new product in first quarter 2016.

ZAP Jonway is working with a couple of large truck manufacturers and is in the process of finalizing its partnerships to support the repurposing of the truck's body to meet the specifications for this USPS opportunity. ZAP Jonway hopes to utilize this repurposed clean energy truck which will have models in both electric as well as Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) to expand into the US clean energy delivery fleet market. After getting the products qualified and type approved in the US for the USPS, ZAP hopes to target potentially other similar delivery companies interested in the same kind of products for their fleets. This potentially could open up a new market for ZAP to deliver its EV vans into the US delivery and logistics industries.

ZAP and Jonway Auto Launches New Model E-3D SUV At Jonway’s Special Dealership Meeting
SANTA ROSA, Calif. (September 30, 2015) - ZAP (ZAAP: OTC) – ZAP and Jonway Auto launches its new model E-3D SUV at its EV product launch dealership meeting held recently with its network of over 50 dealerships nationwide in China. The new E-3D SUV model has been designed specifically to address China’s dense metro city’s EV demands in the face of regulations enforced by the government to limit gasoline vehicle licenses for the densely populated cities. Jonway Auto’s network of nationwide dealers has been pushing for this cost competitive EV SUV to deliver to the market. Additional new regulations are being put in place to levy penalties to auto manufacturers and dealers based on averaged gasoline consumption of all the vehicles sold per year, driving the overall market to seek and promote EV product sales.

Description: Jonway brand achieve E- landscape road low-speed electric SUV

The E-3D SUV is an attractively designed 3 door SUV that comfortably accommodates 4 passengers. The model had undergone and passed European crash tests, and ZAP is currently exploring dealership partners to complete the EV type approval for the European overseas market. Potentially in the future, this E-3D SUV competitively priced would also be suitable for the US market after type approval and certification in the US. The E-3D SUV comes in lithium battery version with range of over 200km or 125 miles, and achieves a top speed of 140km per hour or over 85 miles per hour. The lithium version is eligible for China’s central and local government rebates of approximately US$10,000. Price of the EVs competes competitively with the gasoline versions.

Jonway Auto is taking orders now for shipment at the end of the year, as the manufacturing capacity of the Jonway Auto factory is taken up today to meet the large backlog orders of over 11,000 EV minivans from its two strategic partners DongFeng Motor Corporation (http://www.dfmc.com.cn/dfmczg/main_en.aspx) and Holley Metering in China (http://www.meteringchina.com/en/fug/holley.php). DongFeng has indicated that they are seeking to further increase its current orders for next year’s shipment of Jonway’s EV minivans by more than doubling the current backlog. Jonway Auto’s factory would need to add more production lines and would need to invest in additional manufacturing facilities to meet the increased capacity needs in the backlog and scale its production for the anticipated volume.

ZAP (ZAAP: OTC) – ZAP and Jonway Auto announce mass production of Jonway's EV minivan for 2016
SANTA ROSA, Calif., Oct. 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- ZAP (ZAAP: OTC) – ZAP and Jonway Auto, jointly with Dong Feng Motor Corporation (http://www.dfmc.com.cn/dfmczg/main_en.aspx), held a supplier conference on October 8th in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province to announce volume orders for mass production of Jonway's EV minivan for 2016. ZAP Jonway's EV minivan, marketed by Dong Feng Motor Corporation under Dong Feng's label received favorable market response after initial delivery of a few hundred vehicles last month. Dong Feng Motor's deputy CEO urged Jonway Auto to prepare to increase manufacturing production to support up to 20,000 of Jonway's EV minivan in 2016. They estimate up to 100,000 orders of Jonway's EV minivan over the next three years due to strong market demand for EV delivery vehicles in metro cities. The supplier meeting was held as a joint partnership conference to give Jonway Auto's suppliers visibility and confirmation on future orders and the need to quickly ramp production of the parts needed to supply the increasing volume production of Jonway's EV minivan. Dong Feng Motor stated that they plan to order more than 20,000 of Jonway Auto's EV minivan orders for 2016. Current backlog of Jonway's EV minivan is over 10,000, of which approximately a third is expected to be delivered before the end of this year. The slow start in production earlier this year was due to working capital needs which are now partially satisfied by funding and loans from ZAP and Jonway's major shareholders. Additional funding would still be needed to support the large working capital to fully meet the delivery of EV orders for 2016.

ZAP's Jonway Auto is well positioned to be one of the largest producers of EV logistics vans in China. The EV minivan market targeting delivery companies in the metro cities is the largest EV market in China and currently with the greatest demand. This is driven by delivery companies whose gasoline vans are currently banned from entering the major cities' highway during rush hour, whereas EV minivans are not. Additionally, EV minivans are not subject to driving on odd and even driving days in cities like Beijing and enjoy waivers for vehicle license fees and consumer tax that are imposed on the gasoline vehicles.

With the strong back log of orders for ZAP Jonway's EV minivan, ZAP and Jonway Auto is looking for partners to address manufacturing production capacity for its new E-3D SUV, and working with financial institutions and investors to support the required working capital to deliver the orders in the backlog.

ZAP and Jonway Auto (OTC: ZAAP) - Zap's new E-3D CUV is the latest in a line of odd little EVs
Zap is back along with its partner Jonway Auto to show off another quirky EV for the Chinese market. The new three-door crossover is called the E-3D, and at least the name is better than some of the companies' previous products. We're thinking of the Urbee and the Smart-like Sparkee.

Three-door crossovers are somewhat of a rarity in the US these days, but Zap says that the E-3D is meant specifically for China's dense cities. It uses a lithium-ion battery to offer an over-125-mile range and a top speed of 87 miles per hour. In profile, the thick B-pillar and shape of the glass somewhat bring to mind the three-door Toyota RAV4.

The first shipments of the E-3D won't begin in China until the end of the year because Jonway claims to have 11,000 backorders for its EV minivans. The company also asserts that the CUV passes European crash tests, and it's considering selling them there in the future, too. ZAP even wants to put them on the market in the US. Although, we have to say that we think that prospect could take quite a while, if it happens at all.

ZAP and Jonway Auto (OTC: ZAAP) - DongFang Values Family Time With New Minivan!
nseavoice.com - Posted By: Staff Reporter - October 15, 2015 - Here in the US, there is a growing number of EV car but none of them are actually tailored for a big family. Over in China, EV development is more family oriented as DongFang looks set to introduce a new EV minivan next year.

Produced by Zap Jonway, DongFang plans to deliver as much as 20,000 EV minivans by next year and they are aiming for 100,000 units by the end of 2018. The Zap Jonway minivans will be offered in two variants, passenger-oriented and good-oriented.

In other words, the minivan can be used as a commercial vehicle or a private vehicle. This will surely make it appealing to the average consumers and large families. Either way, the minivan will run on electric motors and this will definitely be its main selling point.

      Comeback
