Wielange kann ECUADOR noch mit unbezahlten Rechnungen leben ?
Kann Präsident Rafael Correa überhaupt noch ruhig schlafen?
Das meiste Öl und Gold seines Landes ist verpfändet, die Dollarbestände ziemlich aufgebraucht und ein Haufen unbezahlter Rechnungen liegen auf dem Tisch.
Und das alles schon nach 6 Jahren, nachdem das Land seine Zahlungsunfähigkeit erklärt hatte weil es sein Schulden von 3,2 Mrd Dollar nicht bezahlen konnte.

Dabei sieht es eigentlich gar nicht so schlecht aus
Die Inflation befindet sich mit 3,67%/a noch im gelben Bereich, der Preisindex ist um 0,1% gestiegen, was auf höhere Kosten für Mieten und Strom zurückzuführen ist, auf der anderen Seite aber auf die Reduzierung um 0,43% der Preise für Nahrungsmittel incl. Getränke.
Der Export verzeichnete in den ersten 5 Monaten einen Überschuss von 483 Mio US$ nach einem Minus von 626 Mio US$ in gleichen Zeitraum des Vorjahres. Der Export stiegen um 9% auf 11,1 Mrd US$. Wichtigster Devisenbringer war dabei das Öl, mit 5,4 Mrd US$

Erste Erfolge konnten mit dem Programm zur Substitution von Importen erzielt werden, was die Regierung noch im Vorjahr beschlossen hatte. Damit konnten die Importe bisher um 2% gesenkt werden


Dennoch wurde jetzt per Gesetz die Einführung einer digitalen Währung als offizielles Zahlungsmittel beschlossen, welches nicht als Alternative sondern als Ergänzung zu den vom Staat ausgegebenen Geld verwendet werden soll.
Zur Deckung des noch unbenamten elektronische Geldes sollen die liquiden Vermögenswerte dienen.,

Geplant ist das Geld zu verwenden für die Bezahlung der Staatsbediensteten und der Auftragnehmer.
Doch der Präsident hungert nach Geld, Die Staatsausgaben für Bauprogramme und zur Armutsbekämpfung, was er angekündigt hatte, haben sich in seiner Amtszeit bis heute auf 4,5 Mrd US$ mehr als verdreifacht. Mit Hilfe des neuen Geldes hofft Correa die Dollarbestände, die die Industrie bitter nötig hat, zu bewahren.
Doch was passiert, wenn die Dollars aufgebraucht sind und die elektronische Währung zunehmend das Bargeld ersetzen würde und Correa dann mehr als erforderlich in Umlauf bringt ? Das wäre der Beginn einer Abwertungswelle mit allen negativen Folgen incl. von Kapitalflucht
