Spekulationen scheinen sich um ein Interesse von Seabridge an Colorados

Why would Seabridge, cruising along at KSM with one of the world’s largest resources of Gold, Copper and Silver, plus critical provincial and federal approvals in hand, find it necessary to step in at this particular time and bother itself with the acquisition of SnipGold, a company that also has reclamation obligations with respect to the past-producing Johnny Mountain mine? There are two reasons in our view, and they both suggest Seabridge may have cut the deal of the year.
First, the macro picture. SnipGold, an easier immediate target for Seabridge than another company we’re about to mention, holds a large land position in a key part of the Golden Triangle north of Stewart and adjacent to prolific emerging mines and past producers. Overall, this core block (1,000 sq km) within the massive Golden Triangle is rapidly attracting intense new interest due to the advancement of two large mining projects, major infrastructure improvements including power, roads and bridges, very significant glacial retreat that has exposed rocks and soils never seen before, and bullish new geological interpretations aided by extensive reviews of historical data going back to the 1980’s boom driven by the Eskay Creek and Snip discoveries.
Second, and this is where the critical sense of urgency comes in, Seabridge made this move now, the evidence suggests, in order to strategically position itself ahead of a potential major new drilling discovery by Colorado Resources (CXO, TSX-V) at the high-grade Inel target, on strike to the southeast of Snip and part of some key ground Colorado optioned from SnipGold in December 2013. Upon the appropriate approvals of Seabridge’s acquisition of SnipGold, Colorado’s KSP option will be with the big fish, not the little one.
Given historical (1988) high-grade near-surface drill intercepts such as 424 g/t Au over 3.5 m (IS130), 41 g/t Au over 7.4 m (IU171), 38 g/t Au over 5.3 m (IS148) and 30.3 g/t Au over 4 m (IU040), and a remarkable geochemical anomaly averaging 1.27 g/t Au over an area 1,000 m x 1,500 m as reported by Colorado February 29, Inel is a significant new deposit-in-the-making and could generate Eskay Creek hole 109-type excitement this summer. CXO is making final preparations for the start of a 5,000-m drill program at Inel after two successful seasons of field work at KSP (Inel is part of KSP under the SnipGold option – most of KSP was staked by CXO).
“We’re off to the races here and it’s going to be an incredible drill season,” stated Adam Travis, Colorado President and CEO in a wide-ranging interview with BMR which we’ll be sharing more of in the days ahead. “I’ve never seen such low-hanging shallow targets in my career that are just waiting to be drilled…what an incredible opportunity we have.”

I chose a three-year chart for CXO (and several other companies in this report) to provide perspective. The stock had a good percentage move recently off a very low base but still trades at a small fraction of the levels it reached in 2014 after making the North ROK copper porphyry discovery. North ROK is still alive and well (if a little small) but it's Colorado's KSP project that is the focus of the current drill speculation.

The KSP project is in the heart of NW British Columbia's "Golden Triangle" area, home to some of the province's largest and highest grade gold and copper deposits. CXO's strong technical management group, led by geologist and CEO Adam Travis, has decades of experience in the region. Colorado assembled KSP through a series of option agreements that allow it to earn up to 80%. This is a heavily mineralized area. KSP hosts a variety of compelling target types but it's high grade gold structures, similar to the neighbouring past producing Snip mine and nearby Valley of the Kings project that interest us.
The map below is centered on the Inel target area where CXO plans a 5,000 metre drill program starting in June. This area saw past drilling and underground exploration. That work yielded some very impressive drill results as shown on the map, including historic intercepts of 7.4 metres grading 20.83 g/t gold, 7.5 metres grading 41 g/t gold and 3.5 metres grading 423.8 g/t gold. These are great drill holes but past workers had difficulty piecing together zones and determining what was controlling the gold emplacement.
Colorado's geologists think they have figured out what is controlling the gold zones and plan to test the theory this summer. As the map shows there are three, and probably more, northerly trending mafic sills which could have provided pathways for gold bearing fluids on their margins. The targets are found within perhaps the most impressive gold-in-soil anomalies I've ever seen, a 1.5 km2 area with an average gold grade in soils of 1.25 g/t. Most of this area was covered in snow pack when past workers were there. The snow pack is still retreating allowing Colorado's geologists to do a much more complete mapping program. More targets are expected to be found NE of the current targets in recently exposed areas.
CXO will drill with a larger core size than in the past which may provide more reliable results from the nuggety high grade gold zones. They will be starting with relatively shallow holes. 5,000 metres should be enough for 20-30 holes which means lots of news flow. This is a market that cares about high grade gold results again. If CXO gets strong results it's quite possible the drill program would be enlarged. The company is raising $4 million to allow for this.
Colorado is sufficiently funded to carry out the program. The current share total and market value leave plenty of leverage if high grade results are generated by the drilling. The drilling won't start until June which provides a window to accumulate the stock on (hopefully) weakness.
CXO optioned their Hearts Peak project, roughly 100 km farther north, to Centerra Gold last year. Centerra can earn 70% of Hearts Peak by spending $8 million by 2019. That project will also get drilled this summer. While not as impressive as Inel it does boast a lot of high grade gold results at surface and could also generate excitement. Field crews have been on site at KSP over the last few weeks conducting prospecting and geological mapping at lower elevations and preparing the Inel drill site and staging areas for the upcoming drill program. Core logging facilities have been completed near the end of the Alta Gas McClymont Creek access road and drill pads are currently being constructed at the Inel Zone with diamond drilling expected to commence this weekend.

Further to the joint news releases dated May 8, 2019, and May 27, 2019, Colorado Resources Ltd. and Buckingham Copper Corp. have signed the binding arrangement agreement that will result in the acquisition of Buckingham by Colorado, along with the addition of new Colorado board members and management, and a minimum $2.5-million concurrent financing.
The acquisition of Buckingham by Colorado by plan of arrangement is expected to be completed on or around Aug. 13, 2019, following corporate and regulatory approvals. Details are summarized herein. Upon completion of the arrangement, a $1.4-million exploration program, including drilling, is expected to immediately commence on Colorado's Kinaskan-Castle property.

COLORADO RESOURCES STARTS DRILLING ON CASTLE COPPER-GOLD PROPERTY IN GOLDEN TRIANGLE
Further to its news release of Sept. 3, 2019, Colorado Resources Ltd. has commenced a drill program on its Castle copper-gold property, located in the Red Chris mining district within the Golden Triangle of northwestern British Columbia.
An initial drill program totaling approximately 1,500 m in four holes is planned for the Castle East porphyry target. Castle East has had no previous drilling but is defined by a 500 by 700 m induced polarization (IP) chargeability anomaly, with coincident anomalous gold, copper, molybdenum in soils. This target is associated with quartz-sericite-pyrite-altered monzodiorite, a geological setting similar to other important porphyry copper-gold deposits in the district, including the Saddle North deposits of GT Gold Corp, located five kilometers ("km") to the east1.
The drill holes are designed to provide important structural and geological information that will guide future exploration on this and other targets on Colorado's 19,256-hectare property.
The Company also reports that 23.5 km of IP and 1,125 km of high-resolution airborne magnetic surveying have been completed, and results are being processed. Prospecting and soil sampling work is nearly complete and a total of 838 soil samples and 178 prospecting rock samples have been submitted to lab for analyses.
The sampling was focused on high-priority targets defined by 2019 and older surveys, as well as areas not previously sampled, particularly along the eastern border of the Castle property where it adjoins the Tatogga property of GT Gold1............

Colorado Resources Ltd. has appointed Dr. Tony Barresi, PhD, PGeo, as president and director of the company, effective Aug. 1, 2020. Dr. Barresi is a geologist with over 15 years of precious and base metal exploration experience. He has conducted successful exploration programs on grassroots and brownfield projects, and specializes in exploring for porphyry, epithermal gold and volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) style deposits. Dr. Barresi obtained his BSc (honours) from Saint Mary's University in 2004 and PhD from Dalhousie University in 2015. His PhD thesis focused on the interplay between island-arc evolution and mineral deposit formation in northwestern British Columbia, including within the prolific Golden Triangle where many of Colorado's key properties are situated. Dr. Barresi was awarded the prestigious Mary-Claire Ward Geoscience Award for his PhD thesis by the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) and the Geological Association of Canada (GAC). Dr. Barresi was previously president and director of Triumph Gold Corp.
During his tenure at Triumph he built a 50-person team of explorers and support personal who are credited with discoveries of the high-grade Blue Sky and WAu breccias, which yielded some of the best greenfield drill intersections globally in 2018 and 2019. Dr. Barresi continues to act as a technical adviser for Triumph Gold Corp., and is an outside director of ArcWest Exploration Inc.
