Of course, the stocks are driven by many of the same factors. However, Microsoft has performed better in recent months amid excitement over its perceived leadership in artificial-intelligence technology while Apple has been hit by concerns about how it can reignite its growth with iPhone sales declining in its latest fiscal year.

Traders Bet on Big Tech Stocks to Ride Out End of Rate-Hike Cycle
      https://finance.yahoo.com/news/traders-bet-big-tech-stocks-2…
      ...
While the Nasdaq 100 soared as Microsoft Corp. hit records and Nvidia Corp. surged anew, the enduring party in the blue-chip mega caps belies dispiriting performance across a slew of equity investment strategies sensitive to the economic cycle.

Value stocks slid, small companies plunged and shares targeted by short sellers had their worst run since March.

Amid the churn was evidence that credit angst continues to dog Wall Street. Firms with the strongest balance sheets beat their shakier counterparts by the most in around four months, data compiled by Goldman Sachs Group Inc. showed, while high-yield bonds declined.

Taken together, the market swings show investors remain profoundly confused as to how the most aggressive interest-rate cycle in four decades will play out in earnings, the economy and corporate valuations. Yet all that angst is masked by the seemingly relentless advance in headline market-cap-weighted indexes — thanks to Big Tech euphoria.

vielleicht einer der wichtigsten Sätze aus dem bekannten Buch:

      Stocks For The Long Run
The Definitive Guide to Financial Market Returns and Long-Term Investment Strategies
Jeremy J. Siegel, Professor of Finance — the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania
      2nd edition, 1998

welches sich vielfach mit den "Nifty Fifty" beschäftigt: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nifty_Fifty

      Seite 113:

If you examine the actual P-E ratio of the Nifty Fifty stocks, the 25 stocks with the highest ratios (averaging 54) yielded only about half the subsequent return as the 25 stocks with the lowest low P-E ratios, whose P-E averaged 30.
So although these growth stocks as a group were worth more than 40 times earnings, they should not be considered buys "at any price."
Those stocks that sustain growth rates above the long-term average are worth their weight in gold, but few live up to their lofty expectations.

Diese Aussagen beziehen sich auf die folgenden 25 Jahre nach dem Top in 1972, also bis 1997. Es galt aber auch:

A portfolio of Nifty Fifty stocks purchased at the peak would have nearly matched the S & P 500 Index over the next 25 years.

BlackRock’s $100 billion model makers are betting on megacaps
      https://finance.yahoo.com/news/blackrock-100-billion-model-m…
      ...
The investing giant, one of the biggest providers of the ready-made strategies followed by asset managers and financial advisers, is “pretty overweight” on megacap tech and growth-oriented names within its model portfolios, according to Tushar Yadava, a strategist with BlackRock’s Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions. The fact that just a handful of companies have powered this year’s market gains has fanned concern about the rally’s sustainability. Yet it’s these firms that tend to have the strongest fundamentals to weather the Federal Reserve’s tightening campaign, he said.

“Going into year-end now, we’d much rather own the largest-cap names,” Yadava said on Bloomberg Television’s ETF IQ on Monday. “Sector by sector, if you throw a dart, we’d rather own the stock that’s in the larger-cap than the smaller-cap because that’s where we’re seeing the positive earnings revisions, that’s where the balance-sheet strength is, and those are the themes we want to own right now.”
