BDI Laguna, a total solutions provider supplying leading-edge products to the nation`s most successful retailers, has leased 65,000 s/f at Meadowlands Distribution Center, 350 Starke Rd. in Carlstadt.
Stephen Elman and Jules Nissim of Cushman & Wakefield of New Jersey`s East Rutherford office, and Frank Caccavo and Jason Goldman of the firm`s Edison location serve as exclusive leasing agents for Meadowlands Distribution Center; a joint venture of ORIX Real Estate Equities and RREEF owns the property.
Andrew Moss of Lee & Klatskin Associates, represented BDI-Laguna in negotiating the long-term lease.
BDI-Laguna provides retail customers nationwide with a full range of distribution and fulfillment services.
In addition to its facility and headquarters in New Jersey, BDI-Laguna maintains distribution facilities in Georgia and Nevada.
"Over the past 20 years our business has grown and thrived in Bergen County, and this new facility will enable us to maintain our momentum and stay in the community we started in," said Joel Blank, executive vice president of BDI-Laguna.
"BDI-Laguna was drawn to Meadowlands Distribution Center because it offers one of the only new construction opportunities for `big box` warehousing and high-tech tenants in the Meadowlands," Elman noted.
"The caliber of its Class-A construction mirrors product being developed further south along the New Jersey Turnpike, yet it sits only six miles from Manhattan. This, coupled with its strong institutional ownership, makes it one of the most appealing opportunities in the local market."
Meadowlands Distribution Center is a 334,175 s/f, high cube distribution facility that was built on spec and completed in 2004. Medimedia occupies 140,000 s/f at the building. Cushman & Wakefield currently is marketing the balance of the space. This includes 143,000 s/f with 32-foot clear ceilings, 18 tailgates and parking for 146 cars. The 18.4-acre property offers easy access to the area`s major thoroughfares, airports and ports.
