Anstatt das die USA sich jetzt sehr vorsichtig und diplomatisch
äußern, haben sie heute eine Drohung nach der anderen
ausgestoßen.
Das werden die Russen wieder als Demütigung empfunden haben.
Und jetzt haben sie auch noch mit Polen das Raketenschutzschild
(was für Polen,Urkraine ,Georgien geplant ist) beschlossen.
Vorm Krieg Georgien hatten die USA sich in diesem Zusammenhang noch
geweigert eigenes Militär in Polen zu positionieren (sicher aus
Rücksicht Russland)
Jetzt haben sie dem aber zugestimmt
Es würde mich sehr wundern, wenn die Russen das so hinnehmen.
Ich fürchte noch immer, sie werden Georgien einnehmen.
Mal sehen ob dann die Ukraine folgt.
Auf der anderen Seite, wenn man das befürchtet, passiert es ja
nicht

Aber mir ist schon unbehaglich, denn so weit weg sind wir ja auch
nicht.

Russen-Panzer rücken in Georgien vor
Trotz des vereinbarten Rückzugs sind nach georgischen Angaben
russische Panzerfahrzeuge weiter ins Landesinnere von Georgien
vorgerückt. Rund 130 gepanzerte Fahrzeuge der russischen Armee
seien aus der westgeorgischen Stadt Sugdidi in Richtung der
zentralgeorgischen Stadt Kutaisi gefahren, sagte ein Sprecher des
Innenministeriums in Tiflis. Derzeit befinde sich die Kolonne in
Chobi, rund 20 Kilometer südlich von Sugdidi

Also mir haben die Zahlen sehr gefallen.
Der Ausblick hat mich leicht enttäuscht.
Ich hatte bei kong.net mit einem massiven Schub im Olympia-Quartal
gerechnet.
Das bleibt offensichtlich aus.
Da ist auch etwas im Busch, denn Kong und Fokus ( Werbevermarkter)
beenden ihre diesbezügliche Zusammenarbeit.
Kong hat m.E. keinen Grund dafür genannt.

(Nasdaq: KONG - News), a leading wireless value-added services
(WVAS) and wireless media company in China, today announced its
unaudited second quarter 2008 financial results.
Second Quarter 2008 Financial Highlights:
-- Total revenues increased 10% sequentially to $23.52 million,
exceeding
the Company's second-quarter revenue guidance of $22 million to
$23
million.
-- Total mobile advertising revenues increased 68% sequentially
to
$357,000.
-- US GAAP net income was $0.30 million. Basic earnings per ADS
were
$0.01. Diluted earnings per ADS were $0.01.
-- Non-GAAP net income was $1.06 million. Non-GAAP diluted earnings
per
ADS were $0.03. Non-GAAP Financial Measures are described and
reconciled to the corresponding GAAP measures in the section
titled
''Non-GAAP Financial Measures".
Commenting on the results, KongZhong's Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer, Yunfan Zhou, said, ''We are glad that both our WVAS
revenues and mobile advertising revenues increased in Q2. In 2008,
we will continue pursuing our wireless Internet strategic
initiative, as we have observed that the wireless Internet is
becoming a more important source of information and entertainment
for mobile phone users in China.''
Business Highlights:
-- On July 3, 2008, the Company was awarded the ''Best Wireless
Media''
award at the 2008 iResearch New Marketing Conference.
-- In August 2008, the Company and Focus Wireless Media Technology
Co.,
Ltd. (''Focus Wireless'') entered into a revised agreement to
discontinue their strategic cooperation after the end of 2008.
The
Company previously announced in March 2008 that the Company and
Focus
Wireless planned a two-year cooperation until May 2010.
-- In July 2008, the Company signed an agreement with Xin Chuang
Hang Yuan
Technology Co. Ltd. (''XCHY''), a company providing discount
e-coupons
on mobile phones and Internet in China, to purchase 19.9% of the
total
equity interest in XCHY for about $1.46 million. The investment
was
completed in August 2008. Through its investment in XCHY, the
Company
expects to provide discount e-coupon services to Kong.net
users.

Total WVAS revenues for the second quarter increased 9%
sequentially to $23.13 million. Revenues from 2.5G services
accounted for approximately 33% of total WVAS revenues and revenues
from 2G services represented the remaining 67%.
Revenues from 2.5G services, which include services delivered using
wireless application protocol (WAP), multimedia messaging service
(MMS), and JAVA(TM) technologies, increased 15% sequentially to
$7.72 million. WAP revenues in the second quarter of 2008 were
$2.97 million, a decrease of 3% sequentially. MMS revenues in the
second quarter of 2008 were $4.43 million, an increase of 54%
sequentially. JAVA(TM) revenues in the second quarter of 2008 were
$0.33 million, a decrease of 58% sequentially.
Revenues from 2G services, including short messaging service (SMS),
interactive voice response (IVR), and color ring back tone (CRBT),
increased 7% sequentially to $15.40 million in the second quarter
of 2008. SMS revenues in the second quarter of 2008 increased 7%
sequentially to $10.30 million. IVR revenues in the second quarter
of 2008 increased 10% sequentially to $3.15 million. CRBT decreased
1% sequentially to $1.95 million.
The aggregate revenues from China Unicom, China Telecom and China
Netcom accounted for approximately 26% of the total second quarter
WVAS revenues, while revenues from China Mobile accounted for the
remaining 74%.
WVAS Cost and Expenses
The WVAS cost of revenues in the second quarter of 2008 totaled
$12.53 million, an increase of 8% sequentially. WVAS gross margin
in the second quarter of 2008 was 46% compared to 45% in the first
quarter of 2008.
Total WVAS operating expenses in the second quarter of 2008 were
$8.50 million, an increase of 15% sequentially. Product development
expenses were $1.93 million and represented 8% of revenues. Sales
and marketing expenses were $3.74 million and represented 16% of
revenues. General and administrative expenses were $2.82 million
and represented 12% of revenues.

Total mobile advertising revenues, which were mainly generated from
KongZhong's wireless Internet sites, were $357,000 in the second
quarter of 2008.
Operating expenses related to the Company's wireless Internet sites
were $2.80 million, which included $1.34 million in marketing and
advertising expenses.
The Company's total headcount increased from 817 as of March 31,
2008 to 855 as of June 30, 2008.
Earnings
US GAAP net income totaled $0.30 million in the second quarter of
2008. Basic earnings per ADS were $0.01. Diluted US GAAP earnings
per ADS were $0.01 for the second quarter.
Non-GAAP net income in the second quarter of 2008 was $1.06
million. Diluted Non-GAAP earnings per ADS were $0.03 for the
second quarter.
Balance Sheet and Cash Flow
As of June 30, 2008, the Company had $130.63 million in cash and
cash equivalents. Cash in-flows from operating activities totaled
$4.65 million in the first six months of 2008.
Business Outlook:
Based on information available on August 15, 2008, the Company
expects total revenues for the third quarter of 2008 to be between
$23.5 million and $24.5 million.

sehe ich ähnlich: Gute Zahlen und vom Ausblick hätte man einen Tick
mehr erhoffen können. Aber er ist OK, und das die Olympiade wenig
Einfluß haben wird, hatten sie schon im letzten CC angekündigt.
(Bei Hurray wirkt sie sogar negativ aufs Label-Geschäft, weil in
der Zeit keine Konzerte genehmigt werden)
Interessant ist das mit E-Coupons. Bei Infospace hat ein Yahoo-User
das jahrelang Zukunftsfeld gehypt. Ganz nachvollziehen konnte ich
seine Begeisterung dafür nicht, und Infospace hat das m.W. nie
ernsthaft verfolgt. Aber hier scheint das jetzt zu kommen.

Wie wird aus deiner Sicht der Markt heute reagieren ?
Ein paar Stücke könnte ich nämlich schon noch vertragen, aber ich

bossls Visionen ging es um Local Advertizing. Du bist mit Deinem
Handy unterwegs und bekommst Rabattcoupons von Geschäften oder
Restaurants, die gerade um die Ecke liegen. Eingebettet in local
search kann ich mir das gut vorstellen, unaufgefordert fände ich es
eher lästig.

Linktone Terminates Agreements with Chinese Youth League Internet,
Film and Television Center

entertainment services to consumers and advertising services to
enterprises in China, today announced the termination of agreements
among two affiliated companies of Linktone, Shanghai Ling Yu
Culture and Communication Ltd (Ling Yu) and Beijing Lian Fei
Wireless Communication Technology Co., Ltd (Lian Fei), and the
Chinese Youth League Internet, Film and Television Center effective
July 1, 2008, with regard to the Qinghai Satellite TV (QSTV)
cooperation.

Ling Yu, Lian Fei and Chinese Youth League Internet, Film and
Television Center have mutually agreed to terminate all contracts
associated with QSTV, which include an exclusive advertising agent
contract and a cooperation agreement. Linktone's impairment charge
associated with its investment in QSTV has been fully reserved.
Linktone estimates the charge to be in the range of US$6 million to
$7 million, which will be included in Linktone's second quarter
2008 financial results.
