08:49:25COPENHAGEN, Feb 9 (Reuters) - The Copenhagen
stock exchange said on Wednesday it was investigating a leak of
full-year results from Danish wind turbine maker Vestas before the
figures were published to the market as a whole.
Technical problems at the bourse on Wednesday morning prevented the
result from being published at 8:30 a.m. (0730 GMT) as planned.
The bourse suspended trade in Vestas shares after it discovered the
report was available on NPinvestor, a local Danish provider of
financial news to private investors, almost 20 minutes before it
was published to the market.
NPinvestors said it received the report in an email from the
bourse.
'The results came into our email inbox at 9:20 (0820 GMT) from the
OMX,' said NPinvestor analys Lars Persson.
'We checked the date, and it looked right, so we sent it out and
crossed our fingers,' Persson told Reuters.
The bourse suspended trading in Vestas's shares about fifteen
minutes later, after the share price began rising. The full-year
report was then published to the wider market about a minute after
the suspension.
A bourse spokesman declined to comment on NPinvestors' explanation
that it had got the report in an email from the bourse.
