sieht für mich stark nach dem Nachfolger von dem EC7 aus...nach dem Bericht, müsste das Fahrzeug schon auf der neuen CMA-Plattform stehen, da geschrieben steht, das auch Volvo auf dieser Plattform kleinere Fahrzeuge in China bauen will...aber die CMA ist doch erst für 2017 angekündigt....

Malaysia's Proton, Geely in talks for potential partnership

Malaysian automobile manufacturer, Proton Holdings Berhad, is in talks with China's Geely Holding Group on the possibility of building a car manufacturing hub in Malaysia for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and jointly exploring the ASEAN market, reports state-run China News Service.

Malaysia hopes a partnership with Geely can introduce new car technology, boost the country's research and development and integrate car technology developed by China, Switzerland and Malaysia, said Ong Ka Chuan, Malaysian Second Minister of International Trade and Industry. Geely and Malaysia could create a new car brand if they teamed up, said the report.

ASEAN is a huge market representing 600 million consumers whose purchasing power is growing along with their educational pedigrees, said Ong. Due to the region's free trade agreements, cars could be sold tax-free in the ASEAN market, said the minister. Although Malaysia, with a population of 30 million, is not a huge market, the country is an ASEAN member and could be a gateway for the entrance of China's car brands into the regional organization, said Ong. Kuala Lumpur has also worked with Japanese companies to manufacture cars in Thailand.

Die auf der Plattform entwickelten Kompaktfahrzeuge werden im wesentlichen in China (Geely) und in Belgien (Volvo) produziert werden. IHS Automotive schätzt das Volumen der von der Plattform kommenden Autos bis Ende des Jahrzehnts auf etwa 550.000 Fahrzeuge."

GB Auto aims to sell 6,000 Geely cars during the second half (H2) of 2015, after successful tests in German factories were conducted on the quality of the car amidst a negative campaign against the car in social media.

Chairman and CEO of GB Auto, Raouf Ghabbour, said the company has conducted tests on the car at German factories, which confirmed the quality of the car.

He added in the financial report that the company sold 3,500 cars within two months, and it aims to sell 6,000 Geely cars during H2 of 2015, with 1,000 cars per month.

Ghabbour indicated that there is a growing domestic demand for passenger cars, which represent 53% of sales in the second quarter (Q2), in light of the growth of Hyundai sales by 22.5% in the Q2, and by 38.2% in the H1. This encouraged GB Auto to offer new models in 2016....."
