EOP Biodiesel AG starts trial production with new production plant with a
capacity of 100,000 tons p.a.
Supply contracts for the B5 market signed
Pritzwalk, Germany, 22 January 2007 - EOP Biodiesel AG currently starts
trial production with the new production plant at its Pritzwalk-Falkenhagen
site. ´We check all procedures and technical appliances several times,
before we will fully ramp up production. End of February 2007, the plant is
scheduled to run at full capacity´, says CEO Sven Schön. The new biodiesel
plant, which has an annual capacity of 100,000 tons, will be officially
inaugurated on March 9 2007 by Matthias Platzeck, prime minister of
Brandenburg in Germany. In total, EOP Biodiesel AG will be able to produce
an annual output of 132,500 tons biodiesel at the Pritzwalk-Falkenhagen
location.
Furthermore, the company has achieved an important step in the expansion
into the market for biodiesel blending. EOP Biodiesel AG signed delivery
contracts with the German mineral oil industry. Since January 1 2007, each
litre mineral diesel sold in Germany has to contain 5% biodiesel in volume
terms (hence called B5 market). ´This means we made an important step on
our way to deliver 60% of our biodiesel output into the B5 market in the
future ´, says CFO Prof. Dr. Karl-Wilhelm Giersberg.
