Aschheim/Munich, January 30, 2012 - In fiscal 2011, Wirecard AG once again
succeeded in recording substantial increases both in sales revenues and
earnings.
In the fourth quarter of 2011, preliminary Group revenues came to 92.3
million euros (Q4/2010: 76.9 million euros), up by 20 percent. Taking into
account consulting expenses in the amount of approximately 1.0 mn euros,
which relate to the two acquisitions announced in December 2011, EBITDA in
Q4 rose 26.2 percent, to reach 26.0 million euros (Q4/2010: 20.6 million
euros).
2011 consolidated revenues were up by 19.6 percent, from 271.6 million
euros in the previous year to 324.7 million euros. EBITDA rose by 15.4
percent, from 73.3 million euros to 84.6 million euros. Adjusted by one-off
expenditures in the first half of 2011 in the amount of 5.2 million euros,
EBITDA would have been increased by 22.5 percent year-on-year, to reach
89.8 million euros.
According to forecasts by various individual market research institutions,
Wirecard AG is expecting the European e-commerce market to grow by
approximately 11 percent in 2012. On this basis a continued positive growth
in the Wirecard Group´s business can be assumed. Additional impetus can be
expected from further Asian expansion, the issuing business as well as the
continuous extension of the product and solutions portfolio.
For fiscal 2012, the Management Board of Wirecard AG is forecasting EBITDA
in a bandwidth from 103 to 115 million euros.
All results are preliminary. The annual report for 2011 will be published
on April 17, 2011.
