April 30 Barbecue to Focus on Autism Awareness at Prominent Chapel Hill Hotel

CHAPEL HILL, NC--(Marketwired - Apr 23, 2014) - Plenty of food, beer and wine will be served during a Wednesday evening get-together as the Residence Inn Chapel Hill welcomes the community to its warm and inviting accommodation in Chapel Hill for an "Autism Awareness Barbecue".

Offering complimentary beef hot dogs, beer and wine for hotels in-house guests from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, the evening menu will also include a six-ounce sirloin steak for just $5 with all proceeds to benefit Autism Speaks. Utilizing the extended-stay hotel's spacious outdoor patio and comfortable lobby, guests of this event are welcomed to mingle around the fire pit and explore the world of autism with information provided from booths set up by local organizations. Bringing to a close a month of activities aimed at raising community awareness of autism and its effects, the event will feature a "Light It Up Blue" booth, literature from Autism Speaks and other area organizations that work with educators or autistic children and adults.

Stepping forward to help community organizations draw attention to the effects of autism, the Residence Inn Chapel Hill has hosted a series of events throughout April as part of Autism Awareness Month by participating in the "Light It Up Blue" campaign, a global initiative aimed at increasing and developing knowledge of autism and the importance of early diagnosis and intervention.
