Corporate Press Release
DEAG signed a 5 year contract to be the promoter of the festival from 2015
onwards
"Green Hell - Rock Festival am Nürburgring" to replace "Rock am Ring" at
the Nürburgring.
Nürburg/Berlin, June 03rd 2014. Accepted as the mecca of rock fans in
Europe, the Nürburgring now has a new promoter. Under the leadership of the
renowned DEAG Deutsche Entertainment AG (ISIN DE000A0Z23G6), the new team
includes the hard rock and metal promoters Stuart Galbraith and Ossy Hoppe
in cooperation with Oliver Hoppe. With tours and events by Iron Maiden,
Black Sabbath, the Rolling Stones, U2 and many others, DEAG is one of the
leaders in the international music business.
From 2015 a new festival named "Green Hell - Rockfestival am Nürburgring"
will succeed "Rock am Ring" at the famous location. The announcement was
made by Carsten Schumacher (Managing Director of capricon Nürburgring, CNG)
and Prof. Peter Schwenkow (CEO DEAG) at a press conference at the
Nürburgring on June 3rd. Keeping with the traditional period of the first
weekend in June, the world's best rock bands will come to the Nürburgring
from 5th to 7th June 2015 and play to around 80,000 fans from Germany and
abroad. The line-up for the coming year will be kept secret until the start
of the advance booking period.
"As a festival location, the Nürburgring is unique in the world. The fans
come from far afield to rock and experience the unique festival atmosphere:
with the greatest bands, from alternative to metal, the best of the best on
all three stages, an upgraded fan-oriented infrastructure and with a
compe-tent and cool team", Prof. Peter Schwenkow explains the concept.
"From next year onwards the proven 3-day festival at the Nürburgring will
be back. The organisation will remain with the proven Nürburgring team."
"We are excited to have entered into a new contract for an initial term of
five years with DEAG, an internationally experienced concert promoter with
a successful record in Europe. This will mean we can guarantee the
continuation of the rock music tradition at the Nürburgring next year,
particularly important since the Nürburgring enjoys such an international
cult status among rock fans. This is a win-win situation for both the fans
and the Nürburgring", says Carsten Schumacher.
