Cuxhaven, 30th June 2014 - The wind farm project developer, PNE WIND AG,
has sold the two wind farms, Calau II C and D (both in Brandenburg) to
Allianz. The two wind farms, each with 5 wind energy systems, have a
combined nominal output of 30.8 MW. PNE WIND AG developed both of the wind
farms and will also take over the technical operations management upon
their completion.
While the Calau II C wind farm and a necessary transformer substation have
already been commissioned, construction work is currently still being
carried out on the Calau II D section. In order to be able to make optimum
use of the location in a forested area, PNE WIND AG selected the Vestas
V112 - 3.0 MW wind energy systems with a particularly high hub height of
140 metres. This ensures that the new turbines can produce environmentally
friendly electricity from the wind equivalent to the annual consumption of
about 26,000 four person households.
Allianz has purchased several projects located in Germany and abroad from
WKN AG in the past. This cooperation is now being continued with the PNE
WIND Group.
Martin Billhardt, Chairman of the Management Board (CEO) of PNE WIND AG:
"With the sale of these projects, we are particularly pleased with the
continuation of our collaboration with Allianz. The wind farms represent a
lasting investment and strengthen Allianz's activities in the renewable
energy sector."
Udo Follrichs, who conducted negotiations on behalf of PNE WIND AG: "In
view of our large project portfolio, we see this sale as the prelude to
further productive cooperation."
David Jones, Head of Renewable Energy for Allianz: "We are delighted with
the addition of the Calau project to our portfolio. The German wind market
continues to be one of our core markets. We have already been collaborating
successfully with WKN for a long time and now look forward to continuing
this in the newly formed PNE Wind Group. We also hope to continue this
collaboration within the framework of future projects."
