Stuttgart, 7 July 2014. As part of preparing the interim financial
statements as at 30 June 2014, Celesio has conducted impairment tests due
to an adjustment in the long-term earnings prospects. As part of this
process, a non-cash impairment loss on goodwill of EUR 80 million was
identified today for the Brazilian wholesale activities as a result of the
revaluation. This goodwill was primarily due to acquisitions in 2009 and
2011.

The full interim financial statements as at 30 June 2014 will be released
as planned on 31 July 2014.
