Keynotes and Program Announced for ApacheCon and CloudStack Collaboration Conference Europe

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Sep 23, 2014) - The Linux Foundation, the nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the growth of Linux and collaborative development, announced today the keynote speakers and program agenda for ApacheCon and the CloudStack Collaboration Conference Europe. ApacheCon takes place November 17-21, 2014 in Budapest, Hungary. CloudStack Collaboration Conference takes place November 19-21, 2014 in the same location.

ApacheCon Europe sessions will cover some of today's hottest open source projects, including Apache projects Cassandra, Cordova, CloudStack, CouchDB, Geronimo, Hadoop, Hive, HTTP Server, Lucene, OpenOffice, Struts, Subversion and Tomcat, among others. ApacheCon brings together more than 100 Apache Software Foundation project communities as well as other open source projects across multiple sectors in one venue. Participants will collaborate and advance the work that is defining the future of technology and that represents a new generation of software development. This year's event offers more than 140 conference sessions in addition to keynotes, tutorials, a hackathon, mini-summits and a barcamp.

The CloudStack Collaboration Conference Europe brings together developers, systems administrators and DevOps professionals who are building and managing large networks of virtual machines and advancing the state of the art for cloud computing technologies. The event offers a neutral environment where attendees can advance their work with Apache CloudStack. ApacheCon keynotes include:

• Douglas Carswell, British UKIP politician and member of British Parliament, will discuss iDemocracy and political reform and how the Internet is changing the relationship between the governing and the governed.
• Hugh C. Howey, best-selling author of the science fiction and fantasy books WOOL and the Molly Fyde saga, will discuss how self-publishing is the future.
• Dave Nalley, PMC member of the Apache CloudStack project, jClouds committer, Fedora contributor and an open source evangelist for the Open Source Business Office at Citrix, will discuss the value of the Apache Software Foundation.
