Hamburg, 23rd September 2014. gamigo AG, one of the leading publishers and
distributors of multiplayer online games, grows through the acquisition of
INTENIUM GmbH based in Hamburg and significantly increases the
profitability further. By this gamigo expands its position in the mobile
and online market as well as its own portfolio. As of now gamigo takes over
100 percent of the shares from INTENIUM by the founders and the venture
capital company Neuhaus Partners. The purchase price was not disclosed.
INTENIUM is very successful in the area of mobile and cross-platform games,
which focuses on the female target group in Europe. In 2015, the company is
expected to contribute more than 4 million euros, and an extra positive
EBITDA of around 1 million euros. The company has 60 employees and operates
platforms worldwide for multiplayer, online and downloadable games such as
Germany plays (DEUTSCHLAND SPIELT). INTENIUM has world-class strategic
partners such as Base/E-plus, Bild and RTL.
The successful Mobile & Cross-platform game "The Rats Online", with
already over 2 million registered players, of which 1.7 million have been
generated in the last four months, belongs to many of INTENIUM own IP's
including online games such as "Alamandi" and "Bonga Online".
gamigo and INTENIUM strategically supplement each other very well. gamigo
is excellent positioned in the marketing of its own products and has its
own affiliate network. This strong position will be used in the future for
the INTENIUM games that have only been mediated through partners so far. In
addition, gamigo strengthens its own successful Traffic-Portal with
INTENIUM's portal DEUTSCHLAND SPIELT.
Theodore Niehues, Co-CEO of the gamigo AG, explains: "We continue our
growth with the acquisition of INTENIUM. With INTENIUM, we massively
increase our revenue and profitability by focusing on the particularly
promising mobile and online business. "
