CloudPay Appoints IT Expert Gareth Hughes as New Chief Technology Officer

RALEIGH, NC and LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwired - Nov 13, 2014) -  CloudPay, the world's only cloud-based platform for integrated global payroll and payments, today announced that Gareth Hughes, currently the company's Head of Development, has been appointed to the role of chief technology officer (CTO). In this capacity, he will be responsible for leading the development and continuous improvement of CloudPay's cloud-based integrated global payroll and payments platform and overseeing the company's technical operations.

Hughes is well qualified for this role, having joined CloudPay as technical architect and U.K. development lead in 2010 before assuming the position of Head of Development. Prior to joining CloudPay, he gained extensive experience in the IT field, serving as a senior developer at Axiell and as a software developer at Triangle Computer Services. Through these positions, Hughes honed his expertise in a range of technologies and software platforms, giving him the background and knowledge to guide CloudPay's continued development. In addition to his professional experience, he brings a solid educational foundation to his new role, having received a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Surrey and a Ph.D. in Contextual Open Hypermedia Systems from the University of Southampton. Prior to gaining his Ph.D., Hughes spent 10 years as a Research Fellow in the University of Southampton's Intelligence, Agents and Multimedia (IAM) Group.
