"Our dealers have seen tremendous benefits from this source of well-trained and team oriented technicians ready to step into work on technically advanced Audi models," said Reinhard Fischer, Director of Strategy, Audi of America. "The Veterans to Technicians program also provides a smooth career transition for members of the military concluding their years in service to their country."

For Audi, the program also helps meet the future demand for trained technicians at the local dealership level as the brand grows and the number of Audi vehicles in operation on American roads increases dramatically over the next several years.

To date, 255 of the 283 Audi dealerships in the U.S. are taking part in the Audi Veterans to Technicians program.

Qualifications for the Veterans to Technicians program include not only certain levels of automotive or aviation mechanical experience but also clear personal records extending even to good driving records.

Veteran applicants receive hands-on coaching and interview preparation assistance. Those hired attend the Audi Fast Track Training Program to become brand certified. Hired veterans also qualify for a special tool purchase program sponsored by Audi and Snap-on Tools.

To explain the opportunities available to Veterans under the program, Audi employees and Veterans hired by Audi dealerships will be available throughout the day at booths off the main lobby of the convention center (Mt Vernon Place entrance) and near the Metro entrance to the Washington, D.C., Auto Show held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, 801 Mount Vernon Place Northwest, Washington, DC 20001. The program staff will also be accepting applications onsite.

Veterans with questions and those wishing to apply online, and Audi dealerships interested in registering may visit www.audivets.com for additional information.
