    TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - July 29, 2015) - The Scotiabank Caribbean Carnival's King and Queen competition, a nighttime extravaganza of elaborate costumes, will be held outdoors the evening of July 30.

    What: Kings and Queens from the Parade's nine Mas Camps will wear picturesque and larger-than-life costumes (some over 10 metres tall and 12 metres wide) and will perform for top honours at this year's Festival.

    Dr. Hooley Mclaughlin will present the 6th annual Ontario Science Centre Innovation Award. This award recognizes innovation in costume design, shining a light on the intricate art and scientific merit of costume design by honouring the creators of these masterpieces shown at the King and Queen competition.

    Where: The almost always sold-out event takes place at Lamport Stadium on King Street West in downtown Toronto.

    When: Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the outdoor show begins at 7:00 p.m. The crowning of the King and Queen and the presentation of the Ontario Science Centre Innovation Award will take place at approximately 10:45 p.m.

    • Pan Alive, North America's largest steel drum orchestra competition, on Friday, July 31
    • the Grand Parade on Saturday, August 1, and
    • Carnival Island on Sunday, August 2.
