GM Canada August Sales Increase 12 Per Cent

OSHAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Sept. 1, 2015) - Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac dealers delivered 24,653 vehicles in August 2015 versus 22,111 in August 2014, an increase of 12 per cent. Total GM Canada sales for the 2015 calendar year to date are up more than 6 per cent.

John Roth, vice president, sales, service and marketing for GM Canada said, "Customer demand for our Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac cars and trucks continues to grow in the Canadian marketplace with GMC and Cadillac experiencing the best August sales in their history."

August 2015 Brand Sales Highlights:

• Chevrolet sales for the month of August were up 12 per cent driven by sales of the Malibu (up 34 per cent), Corvette (up 107 per cent), Equinox (up 23 per cent), Traverse (up 33 per cent), Suburban (up 39 per cent) and Chevrolet's pickup truck portfolio which is up 25 per cent calendar year to date
• Buick Lacrosse sales were up 42 per cent for the month
• GMC total sales are up 16 per cent for the month, fueled by Acadia up 24 per cent and GMC's pickup truck portfolio which is up 28 per cent for the month
• Cadillac sales for the month of August were up 52 per cent, driven by sales of the ATS (up 74 per cent), XTS (up 85 per cent), SRX (up 63 per cent) and Escalade (up 54 per cent)

Across our brands, the integration of 4G LTE technology on more than 30 Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac vehicles is driving customer interest in our products. With mobile data speeds of up to 10 times faster than 3G, customers are showing great interest in the ability of GM vehicles to act as Wi-Fi hot spots, allowing customers to connect up to seven different devices.

Data is not adjusted for the difference in selling days; August 2015 had 25 selling days and August 2014 had 26 selling days.
