CANCOM: Acquisition of Xerabit GmbH strengthens datacenter/storage
business in key account segment
Munich, Germany, 12 November 2015 - TecDAX listed CANCOM SE has acquired
all shares of Xerabit GmbH, based in Unterschleißheim near Munich. The
company operates as a consulting and system house for business-critical IT
infrastructure in the datacenter segment, as well as for IT processes,
software, and services. With three locations in Germany, Xerabit realized
sales of EUR 27.3 million in 2014. An experienced and highly qualified
team of IT specialists holds longtime and close relationships to well-known
enterprise clients and vendor partners. In particular, Xerabit belongs to
the Top 5 IBM partners in Germany with the highest status (IBM Specialty
Premier Partner and IBM Storage Elite Partner). Further strategic
partnerships exist with Dell/EMC, Hitachi (HDS), NetApp und DataCore.
The respective portfolios of CANCOM and Xerabit are largely complementary.
CANCOM not only expands its consulting know-how in the storage/datacenter
segment, but also its key account client base with a focus on the finance
and insurance industry. Moreover, the broader product and services range
within the CANCOM group will create potential added value for clients as
well as employees.
The Xerabit founders and managers Bernhard Hopp and Günter Simmnacher will
continue to manage the Xerabit business, thus ensuring the required
continuity. CANCOM CEO Klaus Weinmann comments: "We are looking forward to
working with the Xerabit team and trust that we will further expand our
sound growth in the high-end datacenter solutions segment by raising new
potential."
