LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwired - April 27, 2016) - Rail technology leader Bombardier Transportation is a Gold Sponsor of this year's Metrorail conference and exhibition held in London on May 26 and 27. This is in addition to being a Gold Sponsor of the Rail Power stream of the conference. This annual gathering brings the world's urban rail community together to share best practices and address industry challenges and future innovations.

On day one of the conference, Niall Simmons, Head of Engineering Bids, Bombardier Transportation UK, will discuss enhancing the passenger experience in metro applications. In the Rail Power conference stream in the afternoon of the 26th, Magnus Forsen, Engineering Director, Propulsion and Controls at Bombardier, will explore how to improve the performance of current transport networks by introducing new drive systems technology into existing rolling stock. His presentation will include information on improving reliability and availability with new technology and system solutions, together with an exploration of the use of alternative technologies to reduce energy consumption.
