Lam Research Corporation Appoints Rick Tsai to Board of Directors

FREMONT, CA--(Marketwired - September 12, 2016) - Lam Research Corp. (NASDAQ: LRCX), an advanced manufacturer of semiconductor equipment, today announced that Rick Tsai will join the company's board of directors effective as of September 13, 2016. Dr. Tsai is currently chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of Chunghwa Telecom Co. Ltd. as well as a director of NXP Semiconductors N.V. He had previously served as president, CEO, and member of the board of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, Limited (TSMC).

Dr. Tsai has served as chief executive officer of Chunghwa Telecom, a Taiwanese integrated telecom service provider, since January 2014. From 2011 to 2014, Dr. Tsai served as the chairman and chief executive officer of TSMC Solid State Lighting and TSMC Solar, both of which were wholly owned subsidiaries of TSMC at the time. From 1989 to 2011, he held various positions at TSMC, including president and chief executive officer, chief operating officer, executive vice president of worldwide sales and marketing, and executive vice president of operations.
