    MELVILLE, NY--(Marketwired - Oct 17, 2016) - The Long Island Capital Alliance ("LICA"), Long Island's leading non-profit capital formation and business development organization, today announced the successful completion of its Technology Capital Forum held September 16, 2016. The capital forum featured presentations by five companies which are building businesses around innovative consumer and business-to-business technologies. 
    Highlights included:

    • An audience of approximately 75 attendees, which included venture capital firms, investment banks, private equity firms, and angel and high net worth investors. 
    • Many Long Island and New York City based investors along with other regional business professionals.
    • Keynote speaker Daniel B. Wolfe, Ph. D., President and CFO of Harris & Harris Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: TINY), the New York-based publicly traded Business Development Company and Venture Capital Firm. Mr. Wolfe discussed the risks and opportunities in building and financing emerging technology companies.
    • Five presenting companies, with each addressing their unique technologies and intellectual properties. 
    • A panel of industry investors reviewed each of the presenting companies and provided expert insights into the valuation and investment processes typically applied by investors to technology companies.
    • The industry investor panel was moderated by Corey Massella, partner and New York office leader of the national accounting firm of Katz, Sapper & Miller. Mr. Massella also is LICA's president and a member of its board of directors.
