Kraken CEO to Speak at Maritime Robotics and Sensor Conference

ST. JOHN'S, NL--(Marketwired - December 15, 2016) - Kraken Sonar Inc. (TSX VENTURE: PNG) is pleased to announce that President and CEO, Karl Kenny, has been invited to speak at the MAROS (Maritime Robotik und Sensorik) Conference being held in Potsdam, Germany on January 12-13, 2017.

ABOUT THE MAROS CONFERENCE

The MAROS conference has been held on a biannual basis since 2011. MAROS is supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economics and Technology as well as the Gesellschaft für Maritime Technik. It is organized by Fraunhofer IOSB and other research organizations.

MAROS 2017 will continue the work started at MAROS 2015 where several workshops led to a roadmap addressing the following issues in the field of maritime robotics and sensors:

• Sensors and Sensor Data Analysis / Management
• Navigation / Communication / Control Systems
• Energy Supply / Propulsion Systems / Pressure Neutral Technology
• Robotic Manipulation

There is an ongoing process to compile key aspects for the research program "2018 - 2022 Maritime Technologies". Maritime robotics and sensors as cross-sectional technologies -- especially autonomous systems -- will be important for all work groups. The presentation of these results at the MAROS 2017 conference will be the starting point to enable small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) to gain access to the international market.
