ViaSat Inc. Receives Award From Cubic for Communications Data Link (CDL) System CARLSBAD, Calif., Aug 12, 2003 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- ViaSat Inc. (Nasdaq: VSAT) has been awarded $11.2 million by Cubic Corporation (Amex: CUB) to provide the Antenna Subsystem, and Communication Security and Network Interface components for the U.S. Navy`s Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command`s (SPAWAR) new Communications Data Link (CDL) System. The five-year contract also contains options for additional unit deliveries that could increase this value. This work is part of a $31.8 million contract Cubic received from SPAWAR in March for the CDL System, a wideband Common Data Link for the transmission of signal and imagery intelligence data between national/tactical reconnaissance aircraft sensors and their associated surface ship processing systems. Engineering and development activities are scheduled to be complete by September 2004.
