I would not be surprised we see a number of lawsuits filed against TeleAtlas for making false claims during their IPO and later filings. TA has stood by the statement that the only competition in either market was NAVTEQ. Now, we find out that GDT had revenues 5 times what TA had (45 vs. 8) and that GDT has consistently had larger revenues. As a result of this HUGE oversight, TA earned very little money in North America and has now had to go outside for funding to purchase GDT. This action has caused all of the free-float investors to lose ownership. Personally, I purchased TA only a year or so ago, but if I was an original investor, I would claim FOUL. |
