Probleme bei Itanium???
Itanium and the many problems facing Intel`s grand entrance into the 64-bit arena. According to the article, Itanium is yielding well below its target introductory speed grades. Additionally, the 133 MHz (DDR 266 MHz effective) FSB versions haven`t arrived in pre-production systems yet. 600 MHz chips with DDR 100 MHz busses is as good as it has gotten, for development systems at least.
The article also touches on delays with Microsoft`s IA-64 Windows version. Intel doesn`t expect it to ship until Q1 2001 at the earliest, so they are essentially relying on Linux to carry the platform.
