notbremse: -------------------------------------snip--------------------------------------- LONDON, Aug 22 (Reuters) - Goldman Sachs said on Tuesday it initiated coverage of Turkish mobile phone operator Turkcell with a "market outperformer" rating and a $19 price target for the American Depositary Receipts. Goldman Sachs, which along with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter served as joint global coordinator for Turkcell`s June initial public offering , said Turkcell`s subscriber growth prospects looked strong, but its average revenue per user (ARPU) would likely come in lower than expected. "Subscriber growth is being driven by pre-paid customers to a greater extent than we had expected, and these pre-paid customers are generating lower than expected ARPUs," Goldman said in a research note. "We are now forecasting a pre-paid ARPU of $10.2 for 2000, down from a reported $11.5 in the first half," Goldman said. Morgan Stanley last week initiated coverage of Turkcell with an "outperform" rating and a $19 per share price target. The ADRs closed on Monday at $14-6/16 on the New York Stock Exchange. The stock was trading down 2.6 percent in Istanbul.
