Electrical steel prices boosted Purchasing July 25, 2005 Producers of grain-oriented silicon electrical steels have been reducing surcharges so they are boosting base prices in a range of 18-26%, effective with August shipments. Grain-oriented silicon electrical steel is used in the manufacture of various wound-core power generation transformers for the electrical energy market.
