@Amiral

Hallo Amiral, habe die Pressemeldung von BTOPENWORLD gefunden. Danke für diese gute Nachricht ! Let`s start in a FANTASTIC future !

Hier ein Ausschnitt aus BTOPENWORLD:

(...)We never release a service until it has been thoroughly tested. Which is not to say that the underlying technology hasn`t been proved. Quite the opposite. It works like a dream, as you`ll see when you get BTopenworld. The testing we`re talking about is in real-life situations, in peoples homes and offices. That`s what counts.

We`re convinced that the BTopenworld multi-computer service already meets the high standards you expect of BT. Which is why we officially launched it on 24th July and are now connecting people. We`re also nearly there with the single computer service, but not quite. We`ll be launching it and starting to connect people in late summer.

Due to unprecedented demand, over 100,000 customers like yourself have pre-ordered BTopenworld, and the fact that a BT engineer has to physically install the service at your end, it will clearly take time to connect everyone.

Don`t worry, though, you won`t lose your place in the queue. We`ll be connecting you on a strictly first come, first served basis for the product you have ordered. So you can rest assured that those of you who have been waiting the longest for the BTopenworld experience will be amongst the first to benefit from it.

Some 35% of UK addresses can already be served by local BT telephone exchanges* set up to deliver BTopenworld. We`re on target to increase that figure to cover 50% of UK addresses by mid 2001, and to 70% of them by the end of 2002.

As a guide, if you pre-ordered the multi-computer (Ethernet) service before 30th June and live or work within an ADSL exchange-enabled area, you should be up and running by September or October**. In fact, the first multi-computer customers will be online this week! If you pre-ordered the single computer (USB) service before 30th June, you should be online by October or November**.

And don`t forget that those of you who pre-ordered the single computer service before 30th June won`t have to pay the one-off installation fee of £150, which is yet another reason why BTopenworld is worth waiting for.
