Wednesday, August 10, 2005 Endeavour acquires options on 2 Guanacevi properties - Mexico Published: Tuesday, August 9, 2005 13:09 (GMT -0400) Vancouver-based silver miner Endeavour Silver (TSX-V: EDR) has acquired options on two silver properties in the Guanacevi district of Mexico`s Durango state, the company said in a statement. The two properties are Porvenir Dos and La Sultana. PORVENIR The 30ha Porvenir Dos property adjoins the company`s Santa Cruz mining property to the northwest and covers an additional 650m of prospective strike length along the Santa Cruz vein. The company now controls more than 4km of known strike length on the Santa Cruz vein system, the statement said. Endeavour`s exploration team confirmed "high-grade" silver mineralization at Porvenir Dos and sampled vein outcrops, mine dumps and mineralized float at the property, the company added. Results from the samples included 0.8m of 691g/t silver and 0.8g/t gold, 0.9m of 414g/t silver and 0.5g/t gold and a grab sample of 464g/t silver and 0.8g/t gold. LA SULTANA La Sultana sits 4km north of Porvenir Dos in the San Pedro area of Guanacevi, covering a narrow section of the Santa Cruz vein system. Endeavour has not yet performed sampling at La Sultana, though is planning an exploration program of surface trenching and diamond drilling to test the potential for a new high-grade silver ore body similar to North Porvenir. Endeavour has an option to purchase a 100% interest in the properties for US$137,000. PEÑOLES DEAL Meanwhile Endeavour announced the strategic alliance and acquisition of nine silver properties in the Guanacevi district from Mexican resources giant Industrias Peñoles (BMV: PENOLES) has now closed. The Canadian company issued 1 million shares and 1 million common share purchase warrants to Peñoles under the deal. |
