Siebel in talks to buy Israeli firm-paper
TEL AVIV, Sept 6 (Reuters) - U.S. customer service software maker Siebel Systems (NasdaqNM:SEBL - news) Inc is in talks to acquire Israeli start-up Banter Technologies for $400 million, the Maariv newspaper reported on Wednesday.
The newspaper said the acquisition would be done via a share swap.
Officials at Banter, a developer of e-communication management solutions, could not be reached for comment.
Banter`s solutions deliver automatic responses, route customer queries and automate business processes.
