Ist die Abstufung von den Schulden von GM, GMAC und Ford Motor nicht eine riesige Entwicklung? Sind die institutionellen Investoren jetzt nicht aufgefordert, diese nun "Schrottstatus"-Bonds zu verkaufen? Ist dieses nicht so ein Ereignis welches den Derivatemarkt jetzt zum erschüttern bringen sollte? Lautet das Thema am Mittwoch in der nächsten Woche zufällig das Thema "Schrottstatus bei den Bonds von GM, GMAC und Ford!" (zu dem A. Greenspan eingeladen hat)?

Bei diesen Bonds von GM und Ford müßte jetzt eigentlich die Hütte brennen!

GM hat einen Gesamtverlust von US-$2 Milliarden bei seinen Automobilverkäufen erlitten! Für GM macht es eigentlich keinen Sinn mehr ihre Autos unter ihren Herstellungskosten zu verkaufen!

GM to continue employee discount scheme

General Motors on Thursday backed away from its commitment to wind down sales incentives, extending an employee discount scheme in north America to the end of September and offering the perks on some of its newest models.

While the discounts have spurred a huge increase in GM’s sales in recent months, they have also sown confusion about the company’s marketing strategy.

General Motors, the world`s biggest carmaker, reported another a loss in the second quarter, due mainly to falling production, a less profitable vehicle mix and higher health care costs in its troubled North American operations.

Rick Wagoner, GM`s chief executive, described the North American results as “very disappointing”. While GM Europe reported its first quarterly operating profit in five years, North American operations reported a $1.2bn loss, compared with earnings of $355m a year earlier

GM to shut plants and cut 25,000 jobs

General Motors plans to close more North American plants and cut at least 25,000 jobs over the next three years, equal to 14 per cent of its North American workforce, as part of a drive to reduce costs and bring capacity into line with its eroding market share.

GM mortgage arm set for capital market debut

Residential Capital, the newly created retail mortgage unit of General Motors, is set to make its capital market debut this week - a deal that will test the unit`s credibility as a borrower independent of its troubled parent company.

A multi-billion dollar bond issue should be priced on Tuesday or Wednesday, people close to the deal said.
