Icon Medialab wins prestigious Excellent Swedish Design award for SAS

The annual Excellent Swedish Design Awards were presented for the
seventeenth year last week. This year, the prestigious prize was
extended to include Internet design for the first time, with Icon
Medialab receiving an award for its work with the Scandinavian
Airlines Systems Web site.

awards the site has won. Such recognition by design organizations is
a clear indication that attention is being paid to the graphics and

The award jury motivated their section of the site saying: "The SAS
Web site maintains the same high quality as the airline`s other
graphic program. The Web site maintains a serious, consistent design
that is translated extremely well from the printed material and
graphic program."
The Excellent Swedish Design awards have an impressive international
reputation. Among the products awarded this year were furniture,
textiles, industrial design, lighting, and graphic design and profile
programs. The chosen products are to be presented in an exhibition
that will travel throughout Sweden for a year.
