Nikkei sheds gains on Livedoor concerns 25.01.06 07:01 (Updates to closing) TOKYO, Jan 25 (Reuters) - The Nikkei share average rose 0.01 percent on Wednesday, losing almost all its early gains as the first trading in Livedoor Co. <4753.T> in more than a week late in the session made investors wary of the impact on the Tokyo bourse`s trading systems. Expecting heavy orders because of the high liquidity of Livedoor shares, the Tokyo Stock Exchange shortened Livedoor`s trading hours between 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. to ease the burden on its computer systems. Livedoor shares ended down 22.2 percent at 137 yen . The Nikkei share average ended up 2.11 points at 15,651.00 after earlier rising to as high as 15,849.52. The broader TOPIX gained 0.37 percent to 1,618.46. |
