Hier die neueste Meldung der Telkom SA von heute: http://www.telkom.co.za/ 9 October 2000 Telkom SA launches USD 250 million syndicated facility via Crédit Agricole Indosuez and Deutsche Bank AG South African telecommunications operator, Telkom S.A. Limited, has appointed Crédit Agricole Indosuez and Deutsche Bank AG as mandated lead arrangers to arrange on its behalf a USD 250 million revolving credit facility in the Euro-syndicated credit market. The purpose of the facility is to restructure existing group indebtedness and for general corporate purposes. The tenor of the facility is one year, with a 15-month term out option. The facility is currently being launched by the mandated lead arrangers to a selected number of relationship banks of the borrower which are invited to participate as arrangers. The facility will afterwards be launched into general syndication. Telkom is currently rated Baa3 by Moody`s and BBB- by Standard & Poor`s. Telkom is currently the only licensed provider of public switched telecommunication services in South Africa, with 5,5 million lines. Apart from public switching and transmission services, the Company also provides directory, wireless data and Internet-based services through its subsidiaries. By March 2002, Telkom will have invested significant funds over five years on modernising and expanding its network. The restructuring of Telkom`s gearing will unlock significant shareholder value as the South African government prepares to list a portion of its majority shareholding in an initial public offering. It will also enhance the Company`s competitiveness in preparation for the eminent deregulation of the telecommunications industry in South Africa.
