Noch was für Kitty: Du schreibst ja immer, dass sich Intel mit DDR-Sdram-Chipsätzen absichert, falls Rdram nicht angenommen wird. AMD macht das selbe anscheinend andersrum: Apropos Rambus: Bislang dementieren offizielle AMD-Quellen ja stets, dass man auch an Chipsätzen für diesen Speichertyp arbeitet. Wer das aktuelle Datenbuch zum AMD-760 jedoch aufmerksam studiert, findet darin bei den reservierten PCI-Device-IDs verdächtige Hinweise auf einen ‘AMD-Rambus-Chipsatz’ mit der Kennung ‘0x700A’. Die ID ‘0x7008’ ist für einen Dual-Prozessor-Rambus-Chipsatz vorgesehen. Die Dual-Version mit DDR-SDRAM wird nach diesem Dokument dann wohl die Bezeichnung ‘0x7004’ tragen. und hier was zu deiner Vermutung, dass Athlon nicht bis 10GHZ gelangen könnte: Q: Is the hammer CPU core basically an Athlon core expanded to 64 bits, or are there additions like a much deeper pipeline cache? Then the server, then desktop, then mobile implementations will be released. This is basically the same order of adoption for the Athlon. It could take some time. also: Hammer wird starke Veränderungen gegenüber Athlon haben, also ist es irrelevant, ob Athlon über 10GHZ kommt. Ausserdem sehr interessant, dass Hammer sogar in Palmtops kommen könnte. Ich sag nur: Hammer wird der HAmmER!! |
