You display the same sovereign disregard for the facts, and the same liking for spurious comparisons, as bares does.

The justice systems in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the human rights records of their governments, are not to equated at all with the Iran of the mullahs. In Iran, Sharia law is applied with a far greater strictness than in the former countries, and dissidents are ruthlessly persecuted.

And there is absolutely no basis for a comparison between the opposition to the execution of minors in the US - which is pursued through the courts and the many other democratic institutions of the US, at the highest levels - and the dissatisfaction with the Iranian justice system expressed by Iranians at the street level.

The point here is that Iranians opposed to judicial murder have no way of changing the system in their country and could not do so even if they were a majority, because they live under a dictatorship. In contrast to this, opponents of the death penality for minors in the US can express their opposition legally and could change the system if they were a majority. They would have every opportunity for doing so, because they live in a democracy.

It is absurd for InvestigativTrader to try to defend the Iranian regime by presenting the dissatisfaction of ordinary Iranians - the cursing of the mullahs by those who witnessed the girl's execution, or the desertion of mosques - as evidence that, after all, not everything is bad under the mullahs. This is like saying that after all, not everything was bad under Hitler because Germans expressed their dissatisfaction with the Nazi regime at the street level.

InvestigativTrader does not want to hear about 16-year old Iranian girls being strung up on cranes, and calls for "objective reporting" about the country. One wonders what this "objective reporting" would look like.

In any case, we are not likely to get much reporting - "objective" or otherwise - about the human rights situation in Iran in the mainstream media.
