AUROGIN RECEIVES FINAL OPERATING PERMIT FOR EL SASTRE GOLD PROJECT

TORONTO, ON, July 27, 2006 - Aurogin Resources Ltd. ("Aurogin" or “the Company”) (TSX-V:AUQ)(OTO:AROG) is pleased to announce that it has received the final operating permit (“License of Exploitation”) required to begin production at its El Sastre Main Zone Gold Project in Guatemala.

Under Guatemalan Mining Law, the Ministry of Energy and Mines has granted to Rocas El Tambor, Aurogin’s Guatemalan subsidiary, a License of Exploitation valid for a period of 25 years (and extendable at the request of Rocas El Tambor for a further 25 years). As part of the Guatemalan mine permitting process, Aurogin submitted an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) in May 2005 and received the Resolution of the Guatemalan Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources approving this EIA in August 2005 (see Aurogin press release of August 23, 2005). Granting of the License of Exploitation is the final step in the Guatemalan mine permitting process.

The El Sastre Main Zone is one of four mineralized gold zones on Aurogin’s El Sastre Project located 37 kilometres northeast of Guatemala City. Gold resources at the El Sastre Main Zone currently stand at 49,251 ounces of indicated resource (370,000 tonnes at 4.14 grams of gold per tonne [g/t Au], and 117,265 ounces of inferred resource (1,165,000 tonnes at 3.13 g/t Au). In addition, Aurogin has defined 518,000 ounces of inferred resource (13,000,000 tonnes at 1.25 g/t Au) at its Lupita Zone, located 600 metres west of the El Sastre Main Zone.

Construction of the Company’s heap-leach pad at the El Sastre Main Zone (see Aurogin Press Release of July 10, 2006) is progressing, with approximately two-thirds of the project completed to date. The Company is currently projecting construction to be completed by the end of the third quarter of calendar 2006 with a first gold pour slated for the fourth quarter of calendar 2006. The operation has been designed to produce gold at a rate of 20,000 oz/yr.

Coincident with its production plans, the Company has commenced development diamond drilling on the El Sastre Main Zone. Subsequently, the drill will be moved to the El Arenal Zone with the objective of outlining a 43-101 compliant mineral resource. El Arenal is located 2 kilometres SE of the El Sastre Main Zone and 2.6 km SE of the Lupita Zone. Gold found at El Arenal is oxidized, fine-grained and similar, metallurgically, to the El Sastre Main Zone. Metallurgical testing (bottle rolls) by SGS Lakefield Research Ltd. on a composite sample from the El Arenal Zone demonstrated gold recoveries in excess of 98% after 14 days and column testing of El Sastre material gave a recovery of 97% in 15 days (see Aurogin Press release of October 18, 2004). The El Arenal Zone lies within the territorial limits of the License of Exploitation
