Swedes desire broadband Nov 16 2000 Almost fifty per cent of Swedish households with Internet access would like broadband into their homes. Video-on-demand is one of the main attractions. Rougly 100.000 Swedish households are hooked up to a broadband connection today, but one million - roughly half the wired population - would like to upgrade to the far larger capacity inherent in the broadband networks, a study from Stelacon shows.Faster Internet and video-on-demand are the main attractions for the Swedes polled in the survey, as well as broadband services which will increase safety in the home, Computer Sweden writes. The study also reveals that the slow pace of broadband rollout Swedish is not due to lack of interest.
