Job Description
Surpha is a leading provider of enhanced telecommunications services including internet access and business class telephone services to over 1000 customers in the Western Region.
The position of Senior Network Engineer requires an individual with experience in design, implementation, support, and management of complex wired and wireless voice and data networks. This position requires strong self motivation and organizational skills including; project management, flexible hours, excellent people and customer service skills.
This position entails leadership in the design of future networks as the company grows, including product evaluation, testing, participation in product development, and more troubleshooting. Interaction with other team members within the company for a variety of company initiatives will be required.
Requirements:
Experience in designing, implementing, operating and troubleshooting voice and data networks in carrier and service provider environments.
Expert-level understanding of internetworking technologies and tools, including TCP/IP, policy routing, firewalls, peering, and DNS.
Significant OSPF and BGP design, implementation, and troubleshooting experience.
Experience with CSU/DSU, PRI, DS-1, DS-3 and ATM in a provider environment is preferred.
Experience with Quality of Service in various data network implementations.
Experience with Extreme Networks, Juniper / NetScreen preferred.
Experience with Wireless ISP radio equipment and installation preferred.
Experience with ShoreTel VoIPbx and Linux desirable.
Some local travel with occasional U.S. travel required.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience--Computer Science preferred.
