EADS sees lower orders in 2001, plans Nortel JV Wed Dec 13 04:35:00 EST 2000 MUNICH, Dec 13 (Reuters) - European aerospace giant EADS expects sales growth of seven percent in 2000 and higher earnings before interest and tax but falling incoming orders in 2001. Co-Chief Executive Rainer Hertrich told reporters in Munich late on Tuesday, in remarks embargoed until Wednesday morning, that incoming orders would peak this year before falling 20-30 percent in 2001. Hertrich also said that the group -- formed in July from the merger of France`s Aerospatiale Matra, DaimlerChrysler Aerospace and Spain`s Casa -- expected to exceed the planned synergy benefits of 580 million euros by 2004 and now expected savings of around one billion euros. EADS was also planning a military communications joint venture with Nortel of the United States. The new venture should have sales of some 500 million euros, Hertrich said. Rtr 04:35 12-13-00 |
