SAN DIEGO, Feb. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Today travelbyus, inc. (Nasdaq: TRIP - news; Boston: TBY - news) a vertically integrated travel and marketing technology company, announced the launch of SiteRabbit(TM), a patent-pending technology that provides for improved targeted marketing to consumers through business-to-business channels.

This SiteRabbit platform supports the travelbyus business model and represents a considerable departure from the models of competitive online and traditional travel companies. According to Bill Kerby, CEO, ``Online travel companies are only using one channel (direct to consumer) and missing opportunities for revenue. With our Business-To-Business-To-Consumer model, we`re marketing through multiple channels-via a network of 2,000 travel agencies-that our competitors either can`t reach, or have chosen to ignore.`` He added, ``This gives us a significant advantage of having a Bricks & Clicks model. We`re creating opportunities for revenue that haven`t yet been fully realized in the travel industry by offering the right product to the right customer at the right time. Travel suppliers have been waiting for something like this for a very long time.``

The initial release of this unique platform will begin on February 19, 2001, to the travel agency members of the travelbyus affiliate network. The program gives each member agency a well-designed, agent-customized, content-rich web site they can use to communicate with their customers and help promote their travel agency. travelbyus hosts and maintains the web sites for the travel agents and uses data collected to conduct targeted marketing campaigns and promotions. These promotions are designed to drive traffic back to the local agency, increasing agent commissions and revenues.

After the initial roll-out is complete, travelbyus will systematically launch the next phase that will include marketing the technology to other vertical industries unrelated to travel.

According to Bill Kerby, ``The deployment of SiteRabbit is the first step to begin capturing significant market share within the travel industry. After that, we`ll be aggressively marketing this technology to other channels and industries. This is our year -- we`re coming into our own.``

travelbyus is a vertically integrated travel company serving over 2,000 member travel agencies and is poised to help design the future of the travel business. Its mission is to become the world`s leading, fully integrated travel network that creates value by providing more information, greater convenience and superior service to both the leisure traveler and the travel agent. It will do this by utilizing unique technology and an advanced distribution system that serves both the travel agent and the consumer to continuously offer the right product to the right customer at the right time.
